Hey guys, I tried searching for my problem, but haven't been able to find anything yet, If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Basically I have a model 98 completely stock. One day in the middle of a game it started doing something weird. It would shoot one shot seemingly as hard as the gun could shoot, then the next not would squib out and it wouldn't recock. When I manually recocked it, it would do the same thing over again. I field stripped it, oiled it, tried to clean whatever I could, and put it back together. Once back together it continued to do the same thing. If this is a common problem or any easy fix I apologize, but if someone could help me out that would be rad.

Agreed.  Make sure you get all of the parts and not just the receivers.  Also make sure you put a drop or 2 in the ASA and then shoot it.

Stay low, run fast, and hope that paintball doesn't hit your...

And make sure you fire it about 20 times to make sure the oil gets through the system.  It would also be best to remove the barrel before you do this procedure.  Unless of course, you enjoy cleaning oil residue from the inside of your barrel...

Thanks for the replies, I'll take it apart tommorow, oil it, and see what happens. It would be nice if something that simple fixes it.

Ok, so that seemed to fix it. But now i ran into another problem. Either when i originally field stripped it, or when I cleaned the hell out of it last night, I managed to lose 2 small pieces. One of the reciever screws, the the ballstopper that holds the paintballs from falling out. I was wondering where the best place to be to get these two pieces? I tried tippmannparts.com but it was like 11 bucks after shipping and handling fees and stuff. Just wanted to get some other ideas on where I might be able to find those to parts.
Thanks

tippmannparts is best for bulk orders.  Like, get your friends, and everyone buys 3 detents and 2 extra screws and 5 ratchets each etc...  throw in a bottle of oil and stuff...

Otherwise, call Tippmann and they'll probably send you the parts, or check local paintball shops.  As long as you're not at big events or at expensive fields it should be cheap.  At the big game at Wasaga Beach I had to pay $15 for a ratchet, which is worth less than $2.

The firing problem, (which may be fixed for a while). Was most likely due to your valve bolts either being loose or missing. This causes a fast first shot then maybe only 2 or 3 sputtering shots after that.

But remember not to tighten them too much or you will strip the valve.
