I was walking by a Garage Sale and saw a box with "PAINTBALL 50$" written on the side. In it was the 68 Carbine, 3 tanks, a mask, various cleaning tools and parts, and some other odds and ends. The gun worked fine but the gas line had a leak and it was pretty gnarly looking. I stripped it, cleaned and oiled it, replaced the old gas line with a new one, it had the stock plastic .45 grips so I added some split grips, a new barrel, and various screws and hardware from the Tippmann parts website since it had accumulated alot of rust.
It's atleast 8 years old. I took it out for the first time with some friends and I absolutely love this thing. Here's a pic: |

I traded a 98 for one straight up a few years back- I LOVE the thing. be careful when you take it apart though....where the gas line screws into the power tube is a tiny little o-ring that likes to shred if things aren't just so when reassembled.
Great find. |

Thanks. Luckily it accepts A5 barrels which made finding a new one easy. |

Yeah, came with the feedneck and a hopper as well. I wouldn't mind having a metal feedneck for it but those seem nigh impossible to find. Edited by Greyson - 02 August 2011 at 12:28am |

All and all you can pick up a 68 carbine or Pro Lite up for usually less than $50... However most of them do not look as good as Grayson's dose for ones that come up this good looking you may have to pay a bit more... It is awesome that you found or they had the plastic cap that goes over the cocking knob. Just need a forward grip and the barrel tip sight and it would be almost factory!....lol...

Yeah, it still had the rubber cap on the cocking arm. I have the stock barrel with sight tip and the rubber shoulder rest for the 12oz tank as well. It was completely stock with the exception of the foregrip when I got it. The trigger was nasty and had rusted a bit so I sanded it down and then finished it up with a polishing wheel on the dremel. I throughly disassembled and cleaned everything. Edit: Stock parts on, with the exception of the gas line and brass saftey. Edited by Greyson - 03 August 2011 at 2:42pm |
