hey all,
my question is regarding the tippmann a5. i finally got down to the park today and got some paintball in. i always take my guns apart after playing and thoroughly clean and check them and i noticed tonight my guide pin is bent? it's part number CA-15, the aluminum ( i believe) guide pin that drives into the rear bolt. just wondering how this happens and how i can prevent it, and how quickly do i need to go about replacing it? thanks a bunch! - kendall also, on a side note.. my 98 custom ACT and a different a5 both had issues firing at the park. both would shoot air but only every third to fourth shot a ball would come out, proceeded by a few balls rolling out of the guns. odd that it happened at the same time? i'm thinking the ball detent(s) needs replaced.. and other ideas? i really appreciate your time and help! any suggestions on the guide pin? i searched google and the forum and came up with nothing before posting this.
as for the second problem; i replaced the ball detent on the a5 and oiled the o-rings. works fine. i have yet to find time to tear apart the 98 act to do the same but fingers crossed that solves the problem. |

my guess on the guide pin is maybe you have it installed backwords. flathead goes to the rear of the marker. i bet if you called tippmann they would send you a new one for very cheap or maybe for free. good luck.

Definitely not backwards. Interesting thought.. Does anyone know the standard depth that the A5 stock hole (that houses the spring and guide pin behind the rear bolt) is supposed to be? If someone has a moment, could you measure it?
