I have a flatline, used it twice... it eats paint like crazy... I don't know what to do. I have my velo set at ~ 260. And I made certain that the little barrell is on... i have taken it off. cleaned it, everything, still making soup.... the first time i was using some crappy draxxus heats it broke about 1 in 10 balls, prolly around 58 degrees that day... today I went up upper 60's low 70's. firing marballizer paint and I broke maby 1 in 5!.. you may think that I am out shooting my hopper, but no` No I was doing like slow single shots... infact once i cleaned it, flipped the hopper back into place, and my first round came out like slush... Does anyone have any suggestions... I love the way this thing fires, when it works... But I simply can't afford to spend 3/4 of each game with the ole squeegie out.... I have a model 98, with the flatline. |

Have you looked into the barrel itself after cleaning it wit a squeegy what does it look like? How old are the balls you were using? Switch the Marbs wit RPS Gold Premiums....theyre cheaper in price and theyre small bore also, they will perform jus like the Marbs which are medium bore balls. |

Both times I was using brand new paint... Just picked it up on the field that day. They have allot of traffic there as well, so I couldnt imagine it being very old....

Ditto... Just like the other guy, start inspecting your paint. Just because it's new doesn't mean that it hasn't been shaken and stirred in trasit from the factory. Have you ever seen the way UPS handles their freight? If your paint is good and there are no obstructions or burrs in your barrel, then make sure your ball detent is in and working. make sure that the barrel is completly in the adapter. put your finger down the chamber and feel for the barrel connecting to the adapter properly.

Also make sure you clean out the internals of the marker. Any little paint shell pieces can easily slice open another paintball. Just cleaning the barrel isn't going to stop that. BTW how are you cleaning the barrel? If your using a straight shot your probably actually damaging it.

Paint was in good shape, no noticable dimples or anything like that... perhaps there is a burr somewhere inside the barrell since its a recurring problem. As for mid game cleaning, i use a wire squeegie, to pull the soup out. I am using rather expensive paint. RPS Marbs, so the paint shouldnt be a factor. I also made certain that the adapter was on properly, ball detent is in, and the barrell was gently pounded up flush... god knows whats going on...
UPDATE: I called tippmann and they instructed me to send it all in, and they would take a look at it for free / fix it... and have it back out to me in 24 hours.... |

Problem solved in twenty four hours. And free yet. Can't beat that. Tippmann customer service kicked our butts in problem solving. LOL. |

ITs good to see a company that stands by its product... BTW. I noticed a couple of little barbs in the barrell before shipping it off... think that may be the culprit... we shall see... peace guys.. I will keep you posted on how this works out
