Hope this is the correct forum and I don't get flamed. But can anyone tell me what the powdery coating is in the factory barrel and flatlines, and does this hinder accuracy, I was going to polish out the inside of my barrel to get rid of it.

in your stock barrel its not powder. its just fine lines they didnt polish when it was made on the lathe. if you polish it out correctly, it will shoot as good as any other after market barrel. the flatline is glass blasted inside. the white rough stuff is tiny crushed up bits of glass. this grips the ball for the backspin. it needs to be re blasted every 200,000 shots though. |
