X7 Velocity Issue

   About 2 months ago a purchased a very lightly used Tippmann X7. First time I took it to play, the velocity was too high so I brought the velocity down to 290 which is what the field requires. At the end of the night, I noticed my velocity screw had completely fallen out of the gun. I went to a paintball shop and bought a new velocity screw. Upon installing the screw, I noticed that the threading inside the screw hole was completely gone. All of the threads on the sides of the screw hole, all the way down to the bottom of the hole are gone. The screw will gone in, but it does not actually thread anything and as such, it cannot regulate velocity.
I have no idea what to do. I am considering getting something such as a steel threaded insert from like Lowe's and trying to put that in and see if it will work, but I'm afraid it will mess something up or not allow the screw to regulate velocity any longer. The only other thing I could think of to do would be to buy a whole new right side of the gun body, but I have no idea where I could get that or how much it would even cost, or if it is even possible to acquire for that matter. I am sure that the warranty is no longer in effect for this gun, so that's out. I do not know what else to do. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
