I fill my own tanks using a 20 lb. bulk Co2 tank. For the past few days it has not been properly filling tanks. I have tried filling 3 or 4 different tanks and they have all filled only to roughly 4 oz. I have tried freezing the small tanks, but it didn't cure the problem. I am convinced that the problem is in neither the bulk tank nor the weight scale I am using. Has anybody had a similar problem? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can't you just keep putting air in them?

No, it seems that the pressure in the bulk tank equilizes with the pressure in the small tank, and when that happens, there is only 4 oz. in it.

Are you sure your bulk tank is siphoned? If its not you would just be putting mostly pressure, but some liquid in there. And you must chill your tanks first or the liquid your putting in will turn to gas and the pressure is too great for more liquid to go in. But Im sure you know that, and you said you froze the tank first. I think its stamped somewhere on the tank whether its siphoned or not. Contact the place you got it and youll find out.

Yes, the top of the bulk tank is painted red, which signifies that there is a siphon tube in the tank. "Siphon" is also printed on the tank.

sounds like your 20 lbs tank is too low on psi to fill a tank. I rent a 50 lb cyclindar and I only get to use about 30 lbs of gas, acording to the weight.

CO2 pressure will equalize according the the ambient temperatures , it is a cyrogenic liquid ,maybe the siphon tube is short,,,,? Or you are about out of liquid,,

Usually you will not get the full rated weight of the tank in fills. I use 50 pound bulk tanks, but never get 50 pounds of liquid CO2. Once the tank gets low, it starts giving short fills and I have to replace it.

Are you sure you're not out of co2? It sure sounds like you're almost out. From my experience, I only get about 16 lbs out of a 20 lb tank (I keep very good track of this). |

Ok, how about a siphon tube problem... I understand that it's marked "siphon", but something may be wrong with tube. Try to invert the bulk tank and see if it works.

Thanks for all your assistance and advice. But after some experimenting, my father and I have determined that the bulk tank's location was too cold and we have just moved it to a warmer climate. Thanks again.
