Alright someone help me figure out wtf is wrong with this stupid
freggin egrip, this things actin up like a troubled child on crack. I
just cant make it work to save my life and im usually really really
good at fixing markers and maintaining my A5 but this one has me more
mixed up then a 14 yr old in the girls locker room. check it out.
My A5 works perfectly with the stock grip. &nbs p; BUT When I install the Egrip it doesnt work correctly on any fire mode, I have tried replacing the entire trigger assembly with the stock assembly, Ive tried Replacing the Battery a dozen times, Ive replaced the sear, and Ive run all the metal moving parts through a sonic cleaner and reoiled them, Ive tried replacing my air tank and still nadda and im just stumped now, I dont have any friends with Egrips so i cant try theres on my gun to figure out if its the grip or the gun. THE PROBLEM
When I Pull the trigger (on any fire
mode) It will fire a random amount of shots (on full auto it will fire
until the triggers released), I can release the trigger an pull it
again a random number of times (1-5 give or take) and it will fire then
it will stop and if I pull the trigger I can feel the solinoid kicking
inside the grip but the gun doesnt fire. The only way it fires again is
if I recock the gun and it will repeat itself (firing a random amount
of times then stopping) and i will have to recock it again. NOTE:
When I recock it I dont have to cock it all the way, the bolt seems to
have stoped just before locking over the sear again and i will have to
pull the cocking nob almost all the way back before I feel any
resistance from the bolt.
The Spring behind the bolt is bent if that matters at all, ALSO i lost the springs that came with the Egrip but I just tried using the Stock springs and crushing them down with pliars to give them less resistance. I just dont get this and the local proshop couldnt fix it either but the guy didnt know much about tippmanns so i dunno, im starting to loose my faith in tippmann. plz help THX |

the drive spring is bent? Do you have the spring guide in there?
IT sounds more like a problem with your gun if you need to recock it to fire again. Are you playing in cold weather by chance, with CO2? Even an x-chamber isn't gonna entirely take care of liquid if its cold outside. Call up Tippmann for some new trigger springs, or use pen springs...... errr wait!! I think I may know your [problem. You said you crunched down the other springs, does that mean that they are shorter now? The e-grip microswitch works the opposite of other micro switches. On most other guns the microswitch is pressed everytime you fire. On the a-5 the switch is HELD DOWN by the trigger, when you pull the trigger you let the switch open, and then you close the circuit. If your trigger spring is too short, then the switch wouldn;t be held down, and you wouldn;t be able to fire until you pressed the trigger forward or something else. |

The board is fried. Oil may have gotton on it. I had the same problem- it shoots whenever it wants to, then just clicks making attempts to fire. See if it remains clicking after you pull the trigger and let go. You'll probably have to send it into Tippmann, which involves shipping it to their address and placing a note in the package stating the problem.

Before you do that get a new pin from tippmann. My gun was doing the
same thing and I found out that some of the pins (the one in the handle
that trips the sear) shipped out with e-grips were manufactured
incorrectly. They would wear down to the point where they were JUST
long enough to trip the sear, but they would randomly not fire becuase
the solenoid is not perfect and does not trip with the same exact force
everytime. The tell-tale sign for this is the fact that you can still
hear the solenoid kicking away, but the gun quits firing.
