I got a Flatline about 2 days ago, I played with it today, and I am disappointed and angry. First I fired 5 shots, out of those 5, 3 of them broke in the barrel. I then fired about 10 and 4-6 broke, and I dont even have a RT kit. My paintballs keep going down to the ground, I changed the barrel by twisting it counter/clockwise, and still no help.

Can it be the barrel?

Is the Tippmann hotline free?

What barrel is better than the flatline?

Thanks for any answers and help.

If its cold youll get this a lot. When its cold your paint shell becomes brittle and paint breaks very easily and frequently from the centrifucal force.

Also make sure your velocity isnt too high. You want it around 260fps.

And what kind of paint were you using? Cheap kind will not do.

But most likly its the cold. Under 55*F is bad.

My friend has the exact same specs as me(but he has a RT), none of his balls broke and they all went in a straight line and fast. My paintballs go in slow motion. I dont think its the Temp., but it might be the paintball brand.

Its most likely the paint then. Try what hes using or other better quality paint. Dont be afraid to spend a little bit more.

And make sure the barrel is strait and everything and theres no oil in it and its clean.

First of all make sure u got it installed right, meaning no gaps bet the adapter and the reciever threads, no gaps bet barrel and adapter, etc.Do research!

Most of all the right paint.Use the 1 that is small with thick shell and thick filling.Try Marbs, Diablo heat, Scorch or Zapp.Make sure they r not old stock!Buy small bags at a time and try it.

Set ur velocity right! 265-275 fps.If u have no chrono.Start low fps then slowly go up till u see them ball float and fly in a flat line.Viola!

Oh and by the way clean it well esp after every break.Use the pull through squeegee provided.open the elbow/breech and stick the squeegee in there.

after a break, dont just clean the barrel, clean the gun.. There is always excess paint that is on the front bolt, by cleaning the elbow and cleaning the barrel.. and begin to fire again.. its pointless.. cause there is still paint in the gun.

Make sure when you are setting the barrel with the adaptet that you hear or feel a click and then you know its in there..

I have also got some wal-mart paint, they were called "scorch" these work well, and have a good shell, i used to get no breaks even with rt.

But test some paint as stated above.. Check velocity if you can, and make sure that the barrel is clean.

Also, this may sound dumb, but i could honestly care less. But get a old shoe lace about 16" or so, longer is better. Get an old long sock, or short either or.. and but a small hold in the end of the sock, tie the show lace to the end of it, and pull it threw the barrel after the barrel has been cleaned by other methods. This makes the barrel dry like out of the box. Dont believe me, thats nice, but try it, it works. And its a better remedy that going out to but a new pull through, which withough the proper sized spunges on it, still dont get the job done..
