Turbo mode? Is semi-auto, untill you pull faster than twice per second, then it starts firing in auto-mode. It's great, 'cause it gives you the control of semi, but, you can rip when you need to. |

Gee, I wonder why Tippmann bothers to put a set of instructions in the box with the marker. I am now waiting for the question, "Wow! when I take the safety off and pull the trigger the gun fires! Is it supposed to do that?" How the heck did you read the part about setting the mode to "Turbo" without also reading the part about how the firing mode changes depending on your trigger pull rate?

Take it easy Bruce, maybe we're misunderstanding his problem. I agree
that people really need to read the manual before asking for help from
us but he might actually have a problem even though it sounds like he
just doesn't understand the firing mode.

Maybe we are misunderstanding his problem. Which may present an indication of another problem, an inability to articulate exactly what is the problem or at least succinctly state the symptoms. I am not being hard on the guy, I just want him to take responsibility for knowing how his marker functions. I my case, I make the decision to buy a certain marker or upgrade by thoroughly reading the literature. I find it amazing that posters to the Tippmann Forum can make statements like, "My Flatline arrived bent! What do I do?" That may be a bit of an exaggeration but I have seen very similar posts. |

bruce i read the whole manual as soon as i opened the box. i figured out the problem too i turned the rof all the way up so with turbo it shoots for every pull and release of the trigger it was much to high for my hopper. i just missed that part in the manual i guess.

I agree with you entirely but it's sometimes hard to determine which
comments are meant to "coach" a person and which are meant to insult
them. I had a feeling you didn't mean any harm by it and I wouldn't
have been bothered if it had been directed at me but some people may
see things differently. Luckily he didn't take offense to it either.
I've seen some bad conversations on the forum result from
misunderstandings and I've been in similar situations on other forums.
Just try to be careful how you say things on a forum because there are
no sarcasm detectors telling people that you're joking and nobody can
hear the words the way you did in your head when you were writing them
so your tone is determined by the reader. Anyway, he found his problem
and fixed it so all is good. See you around. |

It is good that you read the manual. A significantly high number of people don't, even when the marker malfunctions. I just finished installing the E-Bolt on my marker (my son installed one in his several weeks ago). The installation was fairly straight forward, but little details in the instructions had to be read and re-read a couple of times so that it became clear as to what was supposed to happen. Many bits of information in instruction manuals just do not sink in until you begin to look specifically for a solution to a problem. I have found, over the years, and not just with paintball equipment, that re-reading the manual once in a while answers questions to minor operation problems. Problems that I'd just gotten used to working around rather than fixing. See you on the speedball course some day! |
