One day when i was goind to clean my 98 custon i had decided that is was so dirty that i had to take it a part. i had taken it a part before so i didn't think any thing of it. Anyway when i was putting it back together i stripped the two bolts that hold the air chamber together with the body. I didn't know i had stribed them out until the next time i went to a war when i noticed the bolts had fallen out. Then my gun started acting up. It would sometimes act like it was out of air, not re-cock, and have a very! low velocity. my questio is whether ior not i need to by a whole new unit or if i can fix this problem. If i could get some advice on this problem it would be very helpfull. Thank you |

You should just be able to get the two screws and see if it helps or not but if it doesn't you can get a nev valve for like $30. hey by the way does it sometimes shot really hot like way over 290bps or just the low rate?

I my self dont have a radar or some way to check my rate so i dont know if the rate was high. i know i t wasn't the screws that striped it was the holes that hold them in place. Thanks for the tip though.

You are going to need a new valve, or at least the body into which all the valve parts fit (and new screws). Contact Tippmann. |

You'll definetly need two new screws. Mine both fell out, and I just
bought 2 more from a local paintball store for like $.10 a piece or
something. Then I just put some locktite on the screws to make sure
they never fell out again.

ok. i've noticed that a lot of people are having problems with their guns. I mean hey, it happends. but i say if the gun isn't broke DON'T FIX IT! old saying but if everything seems ok and all... then don't take it apart. unless if u have to clean it or something like that.

I lost my two valve screws also, now my gun uncocks every 2 shots. I am definitely not buying a new valve for 30 bucks. Most I am gonna spend on those bolts are like 5 bucks. If the uncocking doesn't stop than I am gonna buy a valve. I don't have money to keep spending on repairs when I gotta keep paying for paintballs, especially field paint...

You'll need a new valve. Unless you didn't strip the threads on the (aluminum) valve, and the screws just came out from not being tightened enough or from vibration. If the valve is stripped the new screws won't hold either.
Now, lesson learned, don't take out those two screws again unless you ever need to replace or repair your valve. There is no need to remove the valve for cleaning. Use some red (permanent) Loctite to hold them in place. |

The two screws hold the valve in place so that the bolt will hit it squarely and properly, insuring consistancy from shot to shot. If the valve is loose, then the shots will vary every time. Call/ email tippmann and see if you can get those two screws from them to hold the valve in place. |
