I first bought my 98 c in 2001. The second time i played with it, it double fired and would sometimes just sputter with a full tank of C02. Brought it to a shop who told me the plastic powerline was cracked and worn. Well they replaced it and it still malfunctioned!! Instead of just buying a spyder or something, i trusted that the next 98 c i would buy would not have the same problem. I was wrong. Malfunctioned on the 20th or so shot. Now im a wreck. I bought a collapsible stock, flatline , red dot, venturi bolt and j and j ceramic barrel that are currently sitting in the back of my garage. I couldnt take it anymore so i just bought a spyder flash and later a piranha Evo. I cant get my tippmann out of my head. Somebody help me. I oiled my gun after every use and i never lost a part.

try a new drive spring, how does the notch look, where the sear catches the rear bolt. it should be 90* not rounded.

The Sear might of been the problem. but what i dont understand is how it got that way when i only shot it maybe 600 or so times. Someone said it could have been too oiled, making the sear slip and another said that liquid co2 might of ruined the valve. It doesnt make sense other than my guns a lemon. How old are your tippmanns, any problems since you bought it? Oh yeah, heres a funny story. I got desperate one day on my first tippmann and ended up putting real gun oil into my marker. Big mistake. Ruined ever single o ring inside the gun!

Gun oil? Or gun cleaning solution? Hoppes #9 is not gun oil, it is a solvent. Hoppes Gun Oil is the best and is recommended by Tippmann. As for the problems you are having, are you not aware that there is a warranty on Tippmann markers? Call the company and ask them for suggestions, after explaining the malfunction a little better than you did here. If that is not satisfactory, send it to them. They will likely fix it for free!

And liquid CO2 is not going to ruin a Tippmann valve, in fact unless is an e-bolt it should be able to run liquid CO2 just fine (though a little less efficiently).
