Alrighty, well, I was working on my gun tonight, and as I was screwing the valve back into the side
of the receiver, sure enough, one of the screws got stripped. Not quite
sure how, I didn't over do it, it just wouldn't get tight at all. Tried
that screw in the other side, and it works fine, so yeah, I stripped
the valve housing somehow. No problem, I have a spare valve. However,
for the life of me, I can't get the valve in the gun out of the
powertube. I removed the velocity screw completely, so nothing is
blocking it. Took off the air line, etc. I tried pushing a pen through
the tube to push out the valve, and nothing happens. I'm afraid I'm
going to bust the powertube trying to get this valve out.
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it out of there? Little tricks or tips? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Edited by montanacur |

It's a 98C. I was working on cleaning up the receivers a bit, and
I wanted to take a look at my valve anyway. I had a weird leak
when I was firing. Could see the gas coming out of the valve area
as well as the barrel.

Yea the leak was probobly the valve O-Ring, or one of the O-rings inside the valve. It sucks to have to replce those. You most likley will have to cut the powertube open to get the valve out, and I dont think that you stripped the screws on the valve itself its more likly you stripped the ones on the pwoertube... |

there might be some locktite from the factory holding things up.try a no 2 pencil or some thing with more surface area and use more force(a little bit at a time).
you can try rinsing in hotwater to expand and contract the valve.good luck |

Snake6, what?!?! Cut it open???? The powertube is also not threaded, the threads are on the aluminum valve body. You just bang it out- as long as the velocity screw is out it'll go. It might take some force, but if you've stripped it it needs to be replaced anyway. You can purchase one slightly discounted from here. |

i would just recomend buying a new aftermarket power tube, you can get one for about 35 dollars, and it seems to expencive for something so amall but an aftermarket powertube will increase your cycle rate and air consumption |

He doesn't need a new powertube. He already has one that works fine, it is the valve the isn't working in which case he has an extra one to replace it with. He was asking how to get the valve out of the powertube.

I finally got the valve out last night at about 2:30 in the morning.
:p Thanks for the help. Only problem now, is that one of
the sides you screw into with my old valve is fairly stripped
too. Man, I'm not sure how that's happening, I never put much
pressure on them, and they have only come out maybe 2 times.
Anyways, thanks for the help!
