is it a good idea to clean your barrel through with water. My friend says it mucks up the threading in the barrel.

is this true?

Nope, It's fine. I clean mine with water all the time. A friend of mine even puts his in the dishwasher, doesn't hurt it.
NASA and the Americans spent millions of dollars and hundreds of hours to develop a pen that would write in space.....The Russians used a pencil.

Warm water and dish soap.

Cleaning the barrel is a MUST. You'll need to remove residue and paint and keep the bore as clean as possible in order to get optimal performance.

I use a soft-bristle pball barrel brush... but using a wooden dowel to shove a soaked soapy paper towel thru the barrel will do the job too.
Use dish soap. Dawn works best for me. Cuts through the oils used in the paintball, and rinses clean without leaving residue like other soaps might.

LOL. Don't give up your day job to become a door-to-door soapsalesman.
Just kidding. It's all good.
Ref: I want a nice clean game
