I recently bought an A5. i have the barrel it comes with(pretty sure a 12 inch) and want to buy an upgrade. I was looking at the flatline but two things pushed me away. it was expensive and i heard that it reduced accuracy. I also heard the flatline is meant for longer ranges and i dont play woodsball, i play more speed ball and urban. Is there a middle ranged($30-$60) barrel wich improves accuracy in CQB(close quarter combat).

J&J and Lapco make the barrels I use. J&J is a great narrel and a lil quieter since it has more porting along the barrel. As for length you want to stay in the 8 to 14" range. Anything bigger is a waste. I prefer an 8 or a 12 depending on my environment. The 8 also looks cool on the gun I have it on so i have a bias there lol.

Freak or All american
Freak is 100 dollars though. Best barrel on the market in my opinion.
Flatlines shoot wierd for speedball
Do not get them, They are to much of a hassle for speedball, The shots go out of the barrel shooting up then curves down to the ground, at 50 feet it curves back up into a straight shot torwards your target and may not hit your target.
Youll end up shooting more of your team mates with the flatline.
Freak or all american by SP is the way to go.

Judge nailed it. I would avoid the All American. Its a swell barrell but the SP Progressive is just as good in my opinion and is less money. The money spent on the AA could be put toward something better. |

The flatline is great for both woodsball and speedball. Ive been playing paintball (with Tippmanns) for seven years. If you know how to set up and use a gun correctly, you would use the flatline barrel.

I use the Flatline for woodsball. I do agree that it is not good for speedball. when i play speedball i use a different barrel than the flatline. Dont get me wrong, the flatline is great. but I think its geared more towards woodsball
