OK so I found a few threads on this topic but I have tried everything and nothing has helped. I have a A5 with RT and flat-line barrel im using a rap4 air thru stock and have a trinity qeph on the cyclone I did have upgraded internals in the cyclone but they were causing paint breakage in the cyclone itself. basically i put the marker back to stock except for the flatline and i am still breaking paint but only in the flatline. a friend of mine has a empire barrel kit for a5 and i was still breaking paint with that also. i have used different kinds of paint thinking that was the problem. and after talking to my local paintball shop he suggested marbilizer as it is supposedly recommended for the flatline but no it still broke paint. I usually run my a5 around 270fps i am using hpa. i have replaced every o ring that i could find. I am running out of things to try and pulling out my hair.if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

right now it is breaking in the flat line barrel...there is no broken paint in the breach or cyclone...but the problem is i have tried a barrel correctly sized to my paint and i am still breaking paint...i normally us midnight paint but have also used marbilizer witch still broke... other then the qeph on the cyclone and rap4 airthru stock the marker is completely stock. also i use hpa if that makes a difference

i actually called tippmann and am going to just send in the marker. i really like to do my own maintenance and troubleshooting so i can learn and take care of problems my self but there are so many things that could be causing the breakage that i am running in circles trying to figure it out.but if you have some input i would like to discuss it further.
thanks

sending your marker in to tippmann sounds like your best option at thie point since you have narrowed down the problem to either the paint or the barrel. Hopefully they will let you know what the issue is so you can help others or yoursef in the future. Good luck.

I have also tried barrel and is surely not the solution to the problem.....but then again, neither is spamming paintball forums with unrelated information but I do it anyway because I am a total loser who lives in my mom's basement and survives off of take out pizza and Mountain Dew while hoping that someday I will meet a woman who is not totally disgusted by my exceptionally low standards of personal hygiene.

I've seen alot of A5s with breaking paint issues. The owners keep thinking the paint was breaking in the barrel. Actually this is what's happening.
The cyclone is making a small crack or split in the shell of the paintball. Then, when the air pressure hits the ball it explodes as it goes down the barrel. So there's no paint in the cyclone or breech. All the paint is in the barrel. This drove a friend of mine crazy. I kept his marker for a few days figuring out what was wrong with it. The cyclone is not turned by air pressure. It's actually turned by a spring. The air pressure just compresses the spring. Then the spring turn the cyclone. This puts a pretty good TWACK!!! on the paintball. The paintball can be cracked by the edge of the hole where it moves from the cyclone into the breech. It can also be cracked by the cyclone paddles. Solution?-- First get the squishy paddles. They're worth every penny. Then you can also shamfer the edges of every edge the ball touches as it moves from the cyclone into the breech. Cold weather can make this problem show up, then in warm weather the problem will go away. The worst thing about the A5 is not being able to easily take the cyclone off and stick a different loader on it. Do the mods I mentioned and buy thick shell paint and you should be fine. |

I've never seen anyone own the woods because of what marker they use.
