I think my excal is done...

1. I love this gun. It is one of the nicest guns i have shot, i think. Only thing is that it is kinda big and kinda heavy, not too bad though.

2. It is as fast as you can pull the trigger. Granted, the viking is faster, the excal is smoother. It also has less kick (doesnt need a mitey max) and is still fast enough for anyones needs. While the viking may be able to do 31 BPS, the excal can only do about 26 or so. Like i said, you wont notice in a game.

3. I would have to hear what this excal you are thinking of trading has on it, because that can effect the path you would choose to go. If it is a type 2 anno, with new board and eyes and a few misc upgrades, i would say go for it. Lots of people are looking to trade their vikings for excals, so if you end up wanting one of those instead, it shouldnt be too hard to get one. Check the AKA forum of PBN for some good info, and a very nice B/S/T section.

Ultimately, i am very happy with my excal, and from what i am told vikings arent too different. One kid i played with has owned 3 vikings and 2 excals, he said there was no real difference while playing with them. Try them out if you can would be my suggestion, and if you cant, i would say go for it. It is a nice step up from almost any gun.

If you like the feel of a trix, you can buy a frame separate and mod it to go on the vike/excal if you wanted to. I think all this requires is redrilling the holes for the trigger switch and maybe redrilling the holes for the screws which attach it to the body go through. I am not exactly sure, but someone on the AKA forum will be able to help you out if you decide to go that path. You can do any trix frame too, from a standard Gen-E to a DM4/5 if you would like to.
