its all about preference.  it really depends on what you want and how badly you want it.  Expensive isnt always better.

Hah. Judging by my preference in markers (i.e. Rainmakers), I have no experience in any of those fields!

But, my vote would go towards a Cyborg, as I've yet to hear bad about those.

Ok and another question, I have my stock Cyclone system but I'm running an APE RAMPAGE board and i cant use it to its full potential. I know its asking a lot but can you formulate me a list of things a would need to max out my Cyclone? It would be very very very much appreciated.

P.S. I'm aware I need a QEV or a QEPH and a lighting rod  and all that but I mean brand name wise. Thanks again!

TechT are the only ones I know of that make those mods.

As far as top speedball marker goes:
'08 Cyborg
'08 Droid
'08 Ego
DM-8

Best high-end for one is not the best for another. When you get down to high-ends it all becomes preference because they all pretty much perform near the same.

First off you need to narrow down what you are looking for. If you want a no-kick, quiet marker, look into spool valves markers. The only problem is they lack efficiency, but there are simple mods, such as the top-hat mod, to fix that problem. Also maintenance is a little more difficult. They are all have an enclosed bolt so if its not BOB (Bolt out back)cleaning the bolt can be a pain, and there tend to be 101 o-ring to lube and take care of. The top spool valve markers are the DM series, Quests, and the Droid is expected to be extremely good aswell. There are more breakout spool markers, such as the Pikkadoll but I have yet to get any word on their performance yet.

The next route you can take is the poppet valve route. Poppet valve markers tend to have a little more kick and make more noise, but they are the most efficient markers to date. Maintenance is also a cinch because they usually have an exposed pull-pin bolt, making accessing the bolt easy as pie and usually don't have many o-rings to take care of. Top markers tend to be the Cyborg, Bob Long markers, and Egos.

The last marker I'm going to mention is probably the only one in its class to be considered high-end is the Infinity Legend. Basically my favorite marker. It is a FASOR (Forward Air Spring Operated Return), a family of markers that operate closely to poppet markers. But instead of having air return the bolt, it uses a spring making is slightly more efficient.

I suggest you go to your local paintball shop and ask if you can take a few off the rack and feel 'em out. I would also ask if you could dry fire them.

Its basically what everyone has mentioned.  There are certain advantages to each type of marker, but its all feel most of the time.  Sacrifice efficiency for kick, things like that.

Best advice is to go test them, and if you cant, go off of reviews, many, many reviews.
