hey all. well i was on another fourm earlier and there was a sugestion to coat the inside of your barrel with rainx, you know the stuff you coat your windshield with so the rain just slides rite off, well i tried it, what i did was used a 12 ga. shotgun swab and put the rainx on ti and ran it threw then you let it dry then run a dry swab through , it makes it pretty much like the cermaic barrell in that ball breaks will clean alot faster, its a cheap way to do this to all barrels

i honestley have no clue, it seem to me that would be kinda hard to do but with the rainx its a liquid and you can do your winshield too, but i tried it this afternoon i cut a ball and squirted it down the barrel and shot and it helped alot

i did it a couple of years ago, i didnt think it made a difference other than the inside of my barrel was really shiny. but then again i did do it with a ceramic barrel so that might be why.

some people suggested oiling the barrel a while back and people all told him it was a bad idea.. the rain-x would dry tho so it might work. i'd just be worried about buildup or residue.

thats why you swab it after you aply it, cuz it makes a "haze" but thats all part of aplying it, and you dont wana put oil in it it will make the ball go who knows where, that and the rainx is alcohl based so it dries real kuick

Just get a gun that doesn't chop or break paint. Problem solved. And this is a very old idea.

We used to use RainX back in the early 90s. It works pretty good for easy cleaning after a break. Makes a sort of "poor mans" teflon coated barrel.
Barrel breaks happen on occasion, not enough for me to worry about coating a barrel in rainx though.
