Ok Ive been playing paintball for about a year and now I think i want to try to get into speedball maybe, but either way i want to upgrade from my 98 to an electonic gun but I dont know to much about them and I have 2 that im trying to choose from. Im trying to decide between an Ion or a 07 Proto Rail. The price diffrence dosnt matter really so just want to know what you guys would do if you were in my position and why so I can make a descision. Any info is much appreciated.Thanks.

Look into the DP Fusion, or the Mini. But I would suggest you wait, many markers will be dropping in price this season. So just hold out and you can get some really good deals.

Also check out the LaSoya Pro-Master and the WGP Super-Stock, both have hit rock-bottom prices (you can pick them up for less than a '98) and are great markers for the price.

Very important question for you, do you already have HPA?

I personally stay away from Smart Parts, but that's just me. Other people love the Ion. As for the PMR, it's a nice spooler, I've liked what I've seen, but the lack of an lpr means more ability to chop and jam.

Almost everything other than a WDP Angel series marker will be fine running a high-pressure-output tank. (There is no such thing as low-pressure air, only HPA with either a high-output or low-output regulator on the tank) The PMR is certainly fine running on a HPO-HPA tank as it doesn't use a LPR.

Well, are you willing to buy used?  To me, for around $300, theres only 2 choices.  Dangerous Power Fusion, and an '06 Intimidator.

Ions are a great way to go , but I was one of those who HAD to have an Ion for my next gun. And I did and was glad I made that decision. But the LaSoya Promaster is really what I would recommend. I want 1 less person in the world to have an Ion. You can be the special kid on the block that a promaster while everyone else has an Ion. So i don't really need to explain anything now. tallen has already taken care of that for me. lol

For under $300 dollars he can find just about every model of free style. Also you can find WDP A1's for around $600. That is if you don't mind buying used. If you want a new marker, I suggest the promaster, the mini, or the fusion.
