I would go with the Ion. It has a lot more upgrade potential and it smaller than either of the Promasters.

But Promasters are better out of the box, performance wise.

Basically, are you going to put money into the gun that you get?

ive never really had much luck with ions.  i bought one, and i leaked straight outta the box.  i sent it back, and they gave me a new one.........it leaked.  then my friends broke down.  i have to say, smart parts has some pretty decent customer service goin.  it all depends on how much u wanna spend after u get the gun.  if u r willing to spend some money, get the ion and get a whole bunch of upgrades like a QEV, new breakbeam eyes, a barrel, and a blackheart board.  otherwise, rule out the ion

Lasoya Promaster > Promaster > Ion.

Promasters are nicer guns out of the box than Ions, there aren't as many aftermarket parts though. While most parts can be upgraded there are only a few manufacturers to choose from for the promaster, in comparision to the Ion.

However since Promasters are better out of the box than an Ion you don't necassarily have to buy alot, if any upgrades. An Ion will need upgrades to have features comparable to a Promaster.

Ions are only a good buy if you plan on using them just about stock, because when you start spending money on upgrades you defeat the whole purpose of an inexpensive electropnuematic... and could have just bought a better marker and spent less.
