I'm planning on buying a new marker closer to christmas but I'm not quite sure which one to save up for: A5 setup like an MP5 or an X7 setup like M16. Also I'd buy the flatline for the A5 and was wondering if it is difficult to set it up cause on the reviews some people said if you don't set the tube just right you don't get full advantage the barrel.

Hey BS (No Offense Intended)

The Flatline on the A5 is pre-set at the factory there is no adjustments needed. You just have to make certain it is on the marker properly, twist lock. It is the 98's that need some tweeking.

Now the A5 or X7......................

I myself am a Big A5 Advocate but the light weight of the X7 impressed the heck out of me so I pulled the trigger. I am planning to upgrade to the X36 (G36 Look) with Folding Stock. I also ordered the Hammerhead Rifled Barrel 14" Bang Stixx with Supressor (14" recommended by Tippmann Tech Support). My hope is that it will be more accurate than my Flatline. I am sacraficing distance for accuracy and ROV

I just played 10 hours at my local paintball park Hollywood Sports Park and my baby A5 worked flawlessly.

Either way be prepared to drop $300-400 in upgrades, my $02.

Thanks, I only thought there was adjustments was b/c my friend said that his dad had do all this work to some tube for it to work properly in his younger bro's A5, but he wouldn't tell me anything else on how it was put in. Sorry if I came off a little noobish but thanks for the help DRACO. I guess I'll get the X7 then. Can't wait!

You are quite welcome Brother BarettSniper,

What is wrong with being a Noobie . We all were once but we seeked out knowledge to grow and most importantly to share with others. I hope you will do the same.

?tube? He probably replaced the factory (plastic) power tube to the JCS Tube made of Aluminum which helps a bit on consistancy. If you go HPA the issue is minimized. If you go Co2 you may want to consider a stabilizer to help keep the consistancy in check. A note on Co2, on a heavy game with R/T or E-Grip, the Co2 may fracture the factory tube. The flatline needs stable air source to work at it's optimum performance ergo HPA. The A5 Flatline and I assume (which I hate to do) the X7 Flatline should be the same, "plug & play" .

Once you get the X7, please post your field test. I plan to use the Hammerhead 14" Bang Stixx to see if the rifled barrel realy works. I hope so, in theory it should.

Oh yeah, planning any Mods? For me I am going with the G36 profile or as Tippmann calls it X36.

Take care,
