ok i dont know if this is totally do able or not. also i have an ebolt so i dont know if this would work on a stock 98 or not. is it possible to cut down the receivers to make it shorter(almost like a mini cocker).

i was thinkin, if you cut a peice of both receivers(behind where the paintball sits). and also cut some of the power tube. the same could be done with the back. but if you did the same to the back. you would have to cut down the ram shaft alittle bit. does anyone see and down falls to this that i might have overlooked?

Do a DM98. It'd be unique. And less work I think.

Competely not worth it. The 98 valve and firing system is just too long to work with. Best bet would be to try and find a small highflow valve and base the internals on that.

the only thing i can see working is if you moved the ram closer to the valve
and shortened the stroke, but it would require you to design your own
custom ram from scratch. that's too much work in my opinion.

That would work nicely. I never thought about that.

Where'd you get the 2 way ram?

My current 98 project has the receivers removed just before
the cocking slot. Other than the CP reg it will be all Tippmann
aside from the valve system I made from a 1: aluminum rod.

It uses an A-5 Egrip frame if you were wondering.

I'll post a build picture set when it's completed in Jan.

It is too short for the stock inline valve and ram when cut.

The only problem with shortening the throw of the ram, is it is linked to the bolt. The bolt is what requires 1.5 inches of throw. If you shorten this, the bolt will not move back far enough to feed paint, or move forward far enough to seal the barrel during firing. You can do whatever you want to the length of the ram and valve, but the bolt needs the 1.5" in order to function properly.
