I'm sorry to be an idiot but I've been out of the game for awhile (college) and now I come back and autocockers are 47 dollars on actionvillage. What happened, are they crap now?

WGP doesn't sell enough anymore. Too many other companies with innovative technology has overtaken the autocockers. They are now considered as tinker toys. The super cheap ones are old or low end like the trilogy. The trilogy is an entry marker. The Karnivor was a nice high-end, but there is so much better you can make if you actually build your own and mill it down like crazy.

Here's the straight scoop:

The blow-out pricing on the low-to-mid grade autocockers is due to the fact that WGP has come up with a new line of markers that is completely changing the face of their company. They will no longer be building back-blocked 'cockers. In place of the classic style, they've decided to produce 3 new markers in addition to the Jeff-Orr series of autocockers that are already being produced. The new Autococker SR which is basically the mating of a karni and a black magic with a new style front block and a mid-block sled rather than a back block. The MG-7 which appears to be either a pneumatically actuated poppet or unbalanced spool marker similar to an invert mini or ion. And the Synergy which is a low-end blow-back sear-tripper.

Basically, the current stores are being cleared for cheap to accommodate the new shipments that will be arriving next month of the new markers.

Wow this is funny. I was on action village last night and seen one of the cockers for only $47 and I grabbed it. For the price I could not resist. So are the trilogys any good. I usually do days of research before buying anything, but for $47 I decided to take a risk.    So are these cockers like the ones I use to hear everything about?

They are mediocre. The trilogy is a cheap entry level version of the autococker. There are less upgrades available, and they are less adjustable.

However since they were designed to be cheap, and entry level (thusly why you can't adjust or replace as much), they are also harder to mess up.

For $47 dollars its a good gun, but the prostocks or super stocks are better (and the prostockers were only 15 dollars more).

I had a trily in my hands the other day, I did a transaction for a canadian friend of mine the other day who couldn't get A/V to ship to him. Anyway, they're a solid marker. The only "timing" issue you should ever need to mess around with would be the hammer-lug as the 3-way's re-cock position is fixed from the get-go. Now, with the ability to get an mq-valve for the trilogy for around $125 USD, they're an even more appealing prospect.

The gun came in today. I am quite impressed with it. It feels great, and appears to be a quality piece. Im quite surprised, I was expecting a cheap low level autococker.    I was wrong.   The only thing Im not so sure on is the trigger. Its too large for a single trigger, but kinda on the small side for a double trigger. So what exactly is the function of it?    Also why the heck can't I get mystandard VL 200 hopper to fit in the feed neck.
Anyhow I took the gun out and gave it a quick field test. I like the gun better then my stock 98. I really like it.

If the hopper feed neck is too small, a little electrical tape around the neck will help it fit better. If too big, then use some sand-paper or emery cloth to sand it down to fit in the feed neck. As for the trigger, it's a 1.5 trigger, basically a single-trigger that is bigger so you can use the bulkier gloves that scenario players tend to use.

The feed neck only fits certain hoppers for some reason.  Mine just came in too but a guy on my team has been playin w/ one for a few years and he wasnt sure why either.  I was told though, that the barrel wasnt too great so I will be picking up a J&J kit for mine.  Also the good part about these new cockers is that you dont have to mess w/ the valve or the reg.  they are all fully factory set to the point that I can use my High pressure HPA on it and the reg will bring it down to the right level right out of the box.  Also this is an accurate gun so I am excited to use it.

So how good are the Pro Stocks? AV has them back in stock(at least for now) for $62.50.

a pro stock is better than the trilogy because it's more upgradeable but really what you should get is a super stock off of ebay for 160...IMO

Pro-stocks are nice, they're the last of the "true" autocockers. Fully upgradable and convertible to pump if you want to.

Just get a mini :D

Naw, the 47$ cockers are making a run at my field- 4 kids who were friends each came in the other day with the same marker- the trilogy, but had different colors.
One spray painted stripes on it- I just laughed and pulled out the ebolt :)

would it be possible to take the stock feedneck off the ac trilogy and put a clamping one on [with some jb weld and sandpaper]? or is it too inclusive in the frame of the marker?

they're threaded now if I remember correctly. The older bodies are pressed in, but even then you can find replacements or have the body threaded to take viking, excal, merlin, or angel feednecks.
