    Posted: 13 November 2006 at 2:53pm

Hello everyone, I’ve done a bit of searching on this forum about what the best electro paintball gun ever just might be.  I know everyone will have mixed emotions. But no one ever explains themselves fully when this question is asked. The market for high end guns is pretty large…

To name a few that you guys might mention:

Ego, Angel, Dye, Shocker, E-Mags, Karnivore, Cyborgs, Intimidador...

I am not new to paintball. But I am new to speedball.  I was wondering why many people may say that Angels are the best guns and why others say Dye guns and others say whatever else.

I have always liked egos because of reviews and things that I’ve read -- they always have the best reviews and highest marks on pbreview.com (not that reviews mean everything but they must mean egos are at least pretty good).

The question is what gun in your opinion is the BEST STOCK GUN MONEY CAN BUY [name the gun (example: Dye Rail, Ego 7, Angel G7 etc.)] and explain what makes it the best gun ever?

I know for a gun to be considered good it must be fast, accurate, and consistent and more. But explain if you can what about the gun you chose and what about it makes it the most "accurate" or the most "consistent" etc.

______________________________________________

Will the new ego 7 change electros in a way because of the new “Direct Acting Solenoid”

[QUOTE=pbjunkie website] Solenoid Valve

For the first time in an Eclipse gun we are using a true “Direct-Acting” solenoid. What this means in terms of performance is that the solenoid pulse is far more consistent, far faster, and far more accurate than a more conventional pilot-operated solenoid valve.
Most solenoid valves used in paintball work off a “Pilot” system. They rely on air pressure supplied by the LPR to drive the spool inside the solenoid valve backwards and forwards. Any deviation in LPR pressure will ultimately effect the speed, duration and accuracy of the actuation of the spool. And because the actuation of the solenoid valve spool is what determines the actuation of the rammer and the valve, you can see that any variation in the pulse from the solenoid valve will ultimately effect velocity, accuracy and cycle speed.

However, in a direct-acting solenoid valve the action of the spool is controlled solely by the electromagnetic coil, and a return spring. So no matter what the pressure and recharge rate of the HP or LPR supply, the solenoid spool will always actuate fully, extremely accurately, and for exactly the same duration every time, giving the whole firing cycle the very best platform from which to achieve the highest possible velocity consistency. And consistency gives accuracy!

But the performance benefits do not stop there. Because the solenoid valves electro-magnetic plunger acts directly onto the spool, and the spool is then returned to its start position by a spring, it means that the actuation of the spool is faster in both the energising and de-energising parts of the cycle. That means the solenoid, and hence the air supply to both sides of the rammer is quicker than a more conventional pilot-operated valve.

DM6/7
The DM line has always been a top performer and will continue to be the top performers.
Most high end guns have the same accuracy.

With high end guns all you really have to do is pick the shape you like and the colors and your done.

Best gun ever would have to be the Nelson 007 since its what started this whole game

All high end guns are close to eachother

There is nothing "new" that can be done besides maybe air differneces.  Soon, one of my ideas, is that there will be no trigger, it will be a sensitve pad on the trigger frame (it would be behind the trigger if there was one), there would be no trigger pull at all, all you would do is have your fingers touch it.  If anyone has used a Creative Labs Zen Micro, it would be like that.  You wouldnt have to push it, just the light touch and heat of your finger

They have thought of the touch pad but It is not legal since it says something about having to pull a trigger to activate a switch in the rule books.

And why would you say: "Legend, Cyborg 06, and the Quest" what about them makes them the best of 2006?

Legend- Thats actually opinion, I got to shoot one a while back and feel in love. It has the lightest and best trigger I have ever felt, and getting to 17bps in semi-felt like a breeze, and I'm not normally that fast.

Cyborg- Fastest marker out there, blew every marker away in efficiency, the only flaw that it had was that it was a little tall and had a little kick. It put all other poppets to shame.

Quest- For spools, it had a lower profile that Matrixes and had better effiecency than Matrixes and Shockers. Quiet, effiecent, small, and no kick, it basically wiped the floor with Dye and SP.

k thanks jerseypaint, maybe when I buy a speedball marker (which is still a while away) I will look at Cyborg's and Quest's as well and not only Dye's and Ego's.

Also look into Alien's and Power Fusions. Many people seem to love them, but sadly I have yet to come across one on the field.

Just keep your spectrum broad, there are alot of companies that make great markers and get over-shadowed by the bigger, but not always better companies.

I'm gonna get some laughs here, but my favorite has to be the Rainmaker. It's potentially fast, fully compatible with CO2, cheaper than dirt (when you find them), rare, and have shock value. They are LOUD buggers.

Downsides are they suck through gas and weigh quite a bit. Also, reliablity is questioned.

"Direct Acting Solenoid"? What, kinda like the Ion's solenoid?

Angels are loved and hated for the same reason: Every newb has heard of them. When they came out in 96, they were the best guns on the planet. Nowadays, they have stiff competition. Players that have been playing awhile like them because they are easy to use, fast, efficient, lighty. Generally, the people that hate them hate them because the newbs love them. They think Angel = newb gun, and thus must be hated on.

People love Matrices because they are smoooth and quiet. They are getting increasingly light and efficient too, so they continually get more attractive. Of course, they still have more rubber in them than a condom convention. As we all know, all that rubber needs to be lubed!

Egos are good guns. Their only big drawback is the noise they make and the kick that is sometimes pervasive.

Grab a Nerve if you can.

Pretty darn decked to go out of the box, and can be had for way less than
most God-Guns

If I had the cash, though, I love the MacDev Cyborg or Ego.

Beautiful markers ...
If I attack, follow me

If I flee, kill me

If I die, avenge me
