So, I was out with my NRPA guys today at Pev's at AG in Leesburg and lo-and-behold two of my old reffing buddies were out there to ref out game today. Anywho, I was talking with Caton, one of the refs, and dropped the fact that myself and two other guys from the NRPA are going to be entering the 3-man tournaments that are coming up in the spring-summer of next year. One of the guys has a brand new $1300 Matrix, the other uses a mix of an Ion and an E2 Eblade 'Cocker. I personally have a very nice (and very heavy) mechanical 'Cocker which I can dump around 14bps out of when I really hit the trigger hard. The issue is this, I could use a nice, light marker for the tournament which will mainly be speedball. I told Caton that I wanted to pick up either an Ion or a used Angel LED (represent the old-skool yo!) He thinks I should just rock the old-school 'cocker as I regularly shoot the living crap out of guys with DM6's, Angels, Matrixes, Egos, Ions, and Timmies.

So, what do you guys think?

I personally feel that a 3-man game would put me at a disadvantage with the classic 'cocker as the field is smaller and concentrated fire becomes a regular occurance. I think I'll still look for a used LED after christmas (as the prices on e-bay and whatnot will come down then) or rock-out a new ion. Either way, I've got all the other stuff I need (hopper, HPA with adjustable output, etc)

Thoughts?

Is it easy for you to rail on your cocker? Or does it take concentration?

Bwahahahahaha!!!!! I dunno if I can do that with the POD man, too many memories, kinda like the hide-a-bed couch from my NY apt.

As for the hammer on my cocker thing, not hard at all, just need to fix that annoying hiss from my palmer's 3-way

I'd go for a LED. Have you looked into a 03 Dye Matrix?
Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

No, I haven't. We had a lot of issues with the old series 1 matrixes at the
shop when they first came out, so they've left a bit of a bad taste in my
mouth. Any clue what the 03's are going for though? I'd give it a try if I
can get my hands on it for less than $400

You can get ahold of DM4's for less than 400, nevermind 03's (on eBay, of course)

Pbnation's B/s/t is where you find the best deals.  By next year 05 shockers will be about the same price as a new ion pro.
