Has anyone from the tippmann design team thought they could use the same kickback idea that is used in the Military Issue M-16 on the C3 so that it can become a semi-automatic or fully automatic paint marker? I know that the problem would be the marker getting too hot, And i have thought of a way aroung this. the Military uses a construct around some of their chambers that is filled with a liquid to keep the chamber from heating up too much. Now These guns are still prototypes but i think that the same idea could be applied to the C3. Granted this would increase weight a little bit but i think with what they paintballers save in money on the propellant they could deal with the added weight. Now another idea is a Tungsten coil wrapped around the area that could get hot. That is why tungsten is used in lightbulbs. It cools rapidly and is good for heat absorption. This tungsten coil would also add weight but that can be avoided by shaving some of the added weight from the main body of the gun. This is an Original idea, so if any Tippmann uses it i would like some some credit if nothing else. I am 18 with plans on going into the military as an ordinace engineer. if you have any different ideas or can make this one better let me know. I am always glad to hear ideas by someone else. -Caleb- Edited by kalieb - 23 March 2006 at 5:22pm |

Tippmann doesn't actually read the Forum. I'm sure they're coming out with a semi-auto propane marker though.

The M-16 is gas operated, not recoil or blowback. There definatly wouldn't be enough gas pressure to operate a semi auto marker like that. As for cooling, a water-cooled paintball gun, maybe it's a decent idea since you probably wouldn't need a large amount of it with the amount of heat generated. However, I'd really expect an air-cooled design, probably with a finned composite barrel. |
