I don't know if this has been done before or if it would be tournement legal but here goes: You all are familiar with that volume control switch on your common electronics. Take a round rotating deal like that, and set it up like a distributor rotor. As you rotate it, have the electrode close the switch at 12:00, 12:30, 1:00, 1:30 ect... So if you rotated the switch one revolution, you would have 24 events tripping your fire circuit relay. Without ramping, if you turn it with your finger one revolution, in one second, that is 24 bps. Then it gets better once you realize that you can change your rate of fire to whatever you need, at the instant you need it, just by changing the speed you spin your trigger. Somebody shoot holes through it so I don't have to try and build one. |

O.K. I'll try. Here is a hole. It sounds like a very good Idea, I like it, but there is one problem, you could accedentally rotate the nob while in play when you don't want too. But then if you put the nob somwhere like on the top of the marker, then that pretty much eliminates that problem. Oh well, I tried. It sounds like a good Idea, I whould like to see it in action. |

Good point, I think I could get around it easily and have a good safety feature. You put it the same location a normal trigger would mount. The part that rotates has a spring behind it that pushes it against a lock ring. To fire you must push the disk in with your finger about 1/4" to free it from this lock ring, then start rotating at whatever speed you like. If your finger stops pushing it in, the rotating part pops out the 1/4" and locks. |

I just got done visualizing it with a marker in hand. I think the biggest problem would be making it comfortable to rotate the trigger and hold your marker by its pistol grip. Just look at the axis your finger normally wants to rotate around in that position. I would build it ambidexterous, and have the 2 opposite rotating parts each be a small flat circle slightly tilted in at the bottom, with a little round groove to grip your finger tip. Maybe I would put the grooves along the whole edge so that you get traction no matter where you grab it. I would put this modular piece on a rail so that you could adjust the distance away from your grip for your finger length. Next would be to get this rail and part onto different popular marker frames as a new trigger, so it's marketable. |

This is sounding like a first rate Idea! You need to make it, I wanna see it work.

I changed it a bit i was thinking maybe you could turn it with your thumb, but also you would have to hit a buttton on your grips to release the dial to work... but in that case it would be in the foregrip...

I thought about using the thumb, but then I thought that you really need your thumb to grip your marker. It's no good if you cannot aim well while activating the trigger. If you use your pointer finger and/or the one next to it, anyone who has or had a girlfriend has muscle memory with that movement I can build the trigger, but I have no e-marker to attach it to. However, I would only need to put the trigger together to prove the concept. Someone make it... I don't care who - I don't plan on making any money off this. |

Just saying, but that would be totally uncomfortable. Try just glueing an knob onto your marker and trying it-I think you'll see my point.

Yes but if you tilt it and then get it the correct distance away on the rail, like I explained earlier, it could be a natural and comfortable trigger walk. Also, you would have fine rotation speed control. |
