So it's compatible with both Apex tips which will be great for me and it's attached to 7/8" o.d. barrels using three set screws that line up perfectly with the porting flutes on my old style edge barrel which is imo one of the best looking barrels to date.
For the not so great; it's a bit unsightly and in my situation required one layer of electrical tape to take up the tolerance. The adapter tip has a slight wobble if the ramp is set on 0 even with the set screws firmly in place. Engage the ramp setting and the wobble disappears which is strange. The instructions state to remove an o ring from the original barrel and place it on the adapter which the tolerances aren't even close. Way to loose to the point that the tip will not stay in a desired position. My fix was going to my o ring stock and placing a thicker ring which worked out great. I know with aftermarket belt manufacturers, they need to use slightly different measurements and angles to avoid legal issues. I'm just wondering why it was necessary to use a different o ring that should have been provided. I'm still an advocate of my old style edge but I just have to wonder about the product testing that was done before product release. Either overlooking this issue, or not stating these things in the instructions doesn't bode well. field review soon. |
