Hi, I recently got an A5 and am looking to upgrade from the stock barrel because it seems fairly inaccurate.  I'm using XBall Podium which is decent paint - probably a little to small for Tippmann's bore though.  Would the Tippmann Pathfinder barrel be a noticeable upgrade?  I can get it for a great price which is why I'm considering it over something like a J&J or Lapco.  Thanks

I looked at the Pathfinder only once and to me it was just a longer version of the A5 stock barrel. I never used it so I cannot say. In place of it, I purchased the Tippmann sniper barrel. Both are 14" lengths but the sniper had a greater amount of porting on the end which makes for a more quieter shot, than the single line of porting in the middle of the barrel that the Pathfinder has.

Do not know what bore diameter your paint has but you can always but in a screw in sizer that pretty much works like a Freak insert of similar. Our field paint is .68 and I use a .683 sizer.

I will say however that for the style of play that I do, I went with the Lapco .683 Big Assault barrel and have no complaints. My wife is petite and doesn't like long, big and heavy so I went with a shorter barrel for her marker as well.

I'm going with the Tippmann Sniper.  This review lists it in the top five.
