Okay so I have posted one or two pictures of my project here (and on some other forums) before but..
Just wanted to post some pics of the current state of my RK-62 mod. It started out as a normal, brand-new, ACT 98 platinum series. Then I added a 32 degrees 12" nitestikk and a homemade stock to it ![]() I then quickly started working on the handguard and moved the cocking rod over to the right side: ![]() Then it was the gasblock that needed to be made: ![]() after that it was bodywork (dustshroud), rerouting the airline (which proved to be quite difficult on the PS) and paint ofc: ![]() ![]() ![]() Due to the green raincover not getting love I decided to color it black. ![]() Then I finally finished my air-through stock and decided to tacticool it up with some rails, a flashlight and some camo-tape: ![]() and this is what it looks like now. Still missing the rear sight. and for some extra eye-candy, here's a montage of of some WIP pictures and a mock-up of what i wanted it to look like when finished. ![]() Edited by devlin86 - 10 January 2012 at 12:48pm |

Very nice. Good work. I initially saw the first photo and started to leave thinking it was another "slap a barrel and stock on" mod, but saw a glimpse of the second photo and looked closer. |

Thanks. The hose is wrapped in a non-adhisive camotape. The tape is like some strechy fabric that sticks to itself but not to anything else.Got it at a local supermarket.
Thanks, that was the hardest thing to do. Couldn't find anything to replace the PS airline, so I got the 90degree fiting off of an X7 and let the airline run through the whole mag. |

everything except the mags and magclip is made by me.The rails are cut from an airsoftgun.
so yes, "raincover", gasblock, front sight, gaspipe, front grip, dustshroud, magrelase, selector switch, stock and so on is made by me using handtools. A friend did however drill the holes in the front grip as I did not have a large enough drillbit. |

I think I have a roll or two of that stuff in my toolbox (great bandages), I'll have to look and see. Be a lot better than that sleeve that I made. If I do it I'll put it in my A5 thread on MSE. |

I needed a third hand when i wrapped it so that it (the remote coil) was streched out while thightly wrapping the coil with the tape. |

Outstanding mod! I wish I had the time to get that involved in customization. All I do is buy stuff and attach it :)
