For a trick barrel, I would recommend an Apex over a Flatline, at least for the 98. I have not shot an Apex, but it gets almost universally good reviews. In addition, the 98 Flatline can be a bit of a pain, and is not as friendly as the A-5 Flatline. The Apex can also easily be switched out for a regular barrel at any time. As for straight barrels, Lapco, Smart Parts, and Dye all make quality barrels. You should also consider barrels from J&J and CP. Frankly, IMO, there isn't that much difference between barrels once you get into the "good quality" category. The one thing to look out for is a barrel that matches the paint you shoot the most. If you have a chance to try the barrel, that would be the best. As between a curved and a straight barrel? Mostly preference. The curved barrel will give you extra capabilities, but you will probably sacrifice some accuracy. |

I would get either an All American or Dye Boomstick.
