There is no pro/carbine in those pictures.

I like the Special, but I'm not a fan of the 'speedball' upgrades on the Carbine. Not my thing. Pretty nice though.

I can understand the sentiment about the "speedball" upgrades.  I look at it and wonder what the heck I was thinking.  But then I play with it (usually in the front and in the dirt).  I can run, dive and generally flail about, and tuck in very tight to whatever cover I'm using.

I dont play speedball, I've tried it, and I much prefer rec-ball or woodsball.  I'd like to check out some scenario games sometime too.

The Special just got a new grip with a palm rest, and the used automag boomstick I found should be back from the lathe soon.  I'll get some pics up of that as soon as I am able.  Working on HPA for the carbine.

Anyone selling their used A5 cheap

Updated pics!

carbine with a crossfire 68/3000, and some stainless line w/quick disconnect (not much new here)

Heres the fun part.  I bought some ergo grips with a palm rest, and found an old centerfeed automag boomstick for cheap, and had it turned down to fit the special.  I mostly like the sheer ludicricy of it ;)

I like'm both.

I have a few .68 carbines, but not a .68 special.  The special looks interesting, a few questions about it;

The grips that you put on there are made for an AR-15?

The barrel that was turned down on a lathe is it still threaded or is it now a clamp fit?

Tippmann 68 Carbine
D-feed
X-core
Palmer Direct Stabilizer
Ricochet AK hopper
J&J 12" barrel
Y2K cradle/Drop

Regarding the grips, yes, the Special has the lonestar style grip, so most AR-15 family grips will fit.  And yes, the special uses a clamp fit barrel.  The old automag barrels werent threaded to begin with.  But it has been turned down on a lathe.

^^^  Thanks for the information.  The barrel and the grip look great on there, it makes me want a .68 special.
