I was just wondering if anybody here has gave this thing a field test?  I thought the DM4 was nice but a little tall, nothing too bad.  If you have shot it, I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions os the marker.

...once again, wrong area...i know, "but i want your guy's opinion!"  Well, read the uber-faq, you'll soon see.

but about the marker...its a bit lighter, and the milling is different so it doesnt look like a mutated fish anymore.  Other than that i think  its about the same...one thing it doesnt have though is DYE milled into the side.  On the DM4's, i noticed while i was messing around with a friend, Dye actually milled "Dye" onto the side of the gun.  The D is the eye cover, the two big lines in the middle are the Y, and the E is hard to see but its backwards at the very end...its pretty cool.

The DM5, although physically a bit smaller, shoots pretty much the same as the DM4.  However, the trigger is configured differently, being more towards the back of the gun unlike the DM4 whose trigger is roughly in the middle of the trigger guard.

Functionally, I have shot both side-to-side and you won’t really notice a difference between them.  Maybe it’s just mine, but the 4 seems to be a bit louder then the 5. Could be the bolt, which is smaller in the 5.

Aesthetically, the milling, as stated above, is slightly different, but nothing that will distinguish it from a 4 at any distance.  The feedneck is lower, which is nice. Also very nice is that the airport is now connected directly to the bottom of the grip, saving the cost of having to buy one plus a drop, which you had to do with the DM4.  There are some who might like a more pronounced drop that will probably not like this feature.

Best bet?  If you have the opportunity to get a DM4 at a decent price, then that’s probably it.  Don’t get me wrong, the DM5 is nice, but to the average player, it won’t offer anything that the 4 doesn’t already have.

Hope this helps.

I believe that it's lighter and faster and more compact.
