Making an electric heater for your co2 tank is easy with Nicrome wire.

However Nicrome wire gets really really hot, (hot enough to cook your toast and blow up a co2 tank) If you had a degree in electrical engineering you could do it.

I would sujest, if you wanted an electric heater, to use those electric heated gloves and jerry rig'em to your tank.

I believe what Enos is saying is this: when you shoot co2, it quickly becomes colder than even winter air. Insulating this cold air would actually become worse for the co2 than exposing it to the air. Now, would using one or MAYBE 2 of those little foot warmer thingys be dangerous? I mean if your actually shooting it should keep the co2 at an accecptable temperature correct? Im just wondering because I want to play in the winter here soon, and I dont have nitro and cannot afford it. Also, if it overheated the worst that would happen is blowing the burst disk right?

I don't understand your theory Enos.  If you insulate your tank you are keeping the air around it warmer, so how is that doing the exact opposite?

Someone could make tanks that have a layer of steel, a thin layer of home insulation, and another layer of steel.
The desire for polyester is just to powerful.

^^A very large one at that. I know someome who uses the sock, but I told him it didnt do anything. Now I have proof and can rub it in his face. I would say buying a nitro tank is well worth it for avid winter-time players.

Insulating your tank is a very bad idea. It accomplishes the exact
opposite of what you intend. co2 uses heat from the surrounding air to
convert itself to gas, so if you insulate it with a sock, all your
doing is making it extremely hard for the tank to use that heat, and in
essence keeping it cold.

yeah, also electrically heating any type of compressed air tank with heating coils is just asking for a hospital bill.

well now that i think of this i came up with a idea but i may be to exspensive.  have heater that is powered by a battery.  its heat coils go around the tank so it will warm it.  however it has thermomiter that it is hoocked up to so it will slowly get hotter or turn off entirely deprnding on the temperature.  just a thought

Like a can cooler, but it fits over the tank. The thing that would most likely make the idea crash and burn is the fact that it would be electrically heated. That would probably bring it to a halt.

OK, I'm new here, but i thought about something I want your opinion on it. What if someone made a warmer for CO2 tanks so that you could play in the winter instead of buying a Nitro system? Like I said though, only an idea.
