good paint costs a lot

Either or. Either way you are going to spend the same money. If you get the 98 flatline you have to buy good paint like evil or to sum it up PMI,RPS type paint. If you buy the A-5 which is like 220-260 you wont need as good of paint. So either way in the long run it doesnt really matter what you get. I would go with the A-5. Its durable and a great great gun overall. I have one and it hasnt let me down.

it depends on what you want in a gun.  do you want an A-5 compact easy to weild gun of do you want a 98 custom flat line able to pick someone off before he gets close enough to give you a welt that is my opinion.  personally i like my modle 98 custom (M-16)
the reaper is out for you

This is true, if you need to hit some one on a short field, and absolutely want a gun that you can trust to hit him, a 98 with a flatline will nail it if you aim right, also, the paint i have boughten for my flatline isnt that expensive. It doesn't really need to be, but needs to fit just right. have fun

scratch the short field part, didnt mean to word it that way. If you want to hit someone with extreme accuracy, as reaper_1 said, get the 98 with flatline
