Me and my friends are gonna try this next time......we designate 2 bunkers (one to each team) and each team gets a smoke bomb and a lighter. the goal is to mark the other team's bunker with the smoke bomb. (or shoot them all). Either way works.

What me and my buddies have done is model several games after popular video games, such as Counter - Strike, Battlefield Vietnam, and games like that.

A field near me used to play a game called Tolerance, until they had to boot it. Basically, you don't call out yourself out when you're hit. You call yourself out when it hurts. It became unsafe (I think someone else mentioned something similar) so they threw it out. Fun though if you remembered your cup.

I tried to play a game called " 'Nam " (Vietnam) once. You take a few players, depending on how many are playing, and they are on the "Charlie" (as in "There's Charlie in the trees!")side. These players take the role of Vietnam snipers, and are given 5-10 minutes to hide and two lives. The other players take the role of the American Army. The trick to this game is for the snipers- you may want to pick some of the best woodsball players out of your group for this, otherwise it's too easy. The catch is that the snipers have to rely on camoflauge and sit perfectly still, and aim a good shot. There was a rule variance offered, such as whether the snipers could only do one shot or a few second burst. We played burst, since the snipers weren't overly skilled than the rest of the players. When the sniper fired at the other team, if he managed to get someone out he was awarded another life (some talked of an extra life per "kill," others said just per shot/ burst), thus making the role of him being a sniper a bit more justifiable. The other team had to keep moving at a steady pace in a single file line, and the goal of the movement was to run at first a circle, then a figure 8, then an hourglass, but I'm not sure if that even happened at all (too many interruptions to keep a clear head- kinda cool). The reason behind that is to change the angles on the field, and to make it seem like it was a larger plot of land with unfamiliarity. With good snipers, it's indeed interesting. It may be a little complex at first, but it does get pretty immersive. I only did it once and loved it.

*edit*

Just to make it clear, the sniper isn't supposed to act like he's playing an actual game. He's supposed to shoot for a few seconds, and if he isn't hit he shouts "Clean" and stands up. If he is hit, he shouts "Hit" like normal, and is supposed to shout out how many lives he has. The sniper then waits for the group to move on, then he re-positions himself anywhere on the field (can't squat right away and attack from behind, though). This keeps it immersive, and keeps the US Army team nervous. And the US team players only get one life.

The rule variations can get pretty messy. I'll try to clear some of them up:

1. Snipers-One shot or Burst?
One shot is for pretty small groups, and its suggested the US only fire three shots. It is also ok if the snipers have a larger team (like 10 US on 5 Viet Snipers), or if the snipers have played for a while and can shoot pretty good. Generally, one shot actually means shooting three balls with a good time space in between. I'm not sure why they called it one shot (old school game from days of tubes, maybe?)
Burst is when the snipers are heavily outnumbered, or are fairly new players. This gives the game a balancing ability, mainly because bad snipers will cause the game to end fast and be unenjoyable.

2. Snipers- One life per burst or per kill?
This one is tricky- you should base it off of the first rule above. Playing with burst and a life per kill could unbalance the game. But, playing with life per burst and one shot could be difficult for the snipers. You really need to know the players, or you can try certain rules and adjust them based on the first time you play.

3. US Army- one life or two?
Sometimes, in order to make the game last longer, the US is given two lives. This would mainly be for games where there are a good amount of snipers (5 US vs. 5 Snipers), or for games where a lot of n00bs are playing.

A good tip on playing Snipers is to finds good cover, sit still, and wait for a good distance. You don't want too far, but you don't want too close. You should fire (depending on rule variance) three times- either three single shots, or three short bursts before trying to call yourself clean. Shooting once and jumping up right away saying "clean" isn't fair, and deserves you to be debunked a life.

The US players need to sweep the area as they do a light jog- keep your eye trained close on the area in front of you, and turn slightly off to your left and right continuously. When you hear fire, turn and shoot at it WHILE moving towards cover. Don't just take a kneel and try to shoot, thats what gives snipers lives. You need to be nervously cautious, but don't get too jumpy, else you may be firing at people-shaped trees (I did this constantly) and letting the snipers know how far away you are. Don't be surprised to find two or more snipers in one area- keep your eyes peeled and trust everyone else in the group is.

I know it sounds like for playing it once I know too much about it, but my buddy kept telling me about it, and telling me about it, etc. When we finally played it once, he started to shy away from paintball. He hasn't played for three years now. Oops- sounds more like scenario than woodsball. I'd like to play it again sometime...

Nah the paint cant really pickup speed.  Its like throwing a loosely crumpled paper ball.  Not fast and not accurate and doesnt go far.  But no barrels in an enclosed space owns!!!

Here's another Variation you can play ,,, called ,,

ALIEN Vs HUNTERS

you get about 10-20 percent of the guys you play with,,,, and make them "Aliens" No armbands or identifiers on them , the rest of the guys are "Hunters" , they wear something that identifies them as hunters , that is ,,, until they get shot by an alien , then they get a 20 second count (While tearing off the armbands and becoming an "Alien") .

If you start out with a few good aliens , you'd be surprised how quickly the games go , and it keeps most of the players in the game for a bit longer ! you can play with normal rules , one hit anywhere ,your out , or Gladiator rules ,(hit has to be in the torso for a kill) . Obvoiusly , the hunters get to play longer , because they get ressurected as Aliens again .

SL68-II , micro honed and polished .688" bore . Tuff Enuf .
Widowmaker , under construction

What happens if somone gets hit? If the volocity is topped off, wouldn't it break the skin?

And what about Revolution: Its kind of like gettysberg exept that each team has to stand in a horisontal line facing the other team. One team shoots while the other reloads. The exeption is that your not out until you cant stand being hit anymore. To make it a bit more challenging, Each team has to be about 20-30 feet away.(Maybe 10, If your daring) Remember, one shot at a time.

sometimes we go into this tennis court, turn velocity up, take barrels off , and have at it. Theres about 8 of us and balls a flying.  Its a fun wind down game after some good scenario play.  Maybe its just us but thats kinda fun.

you have to convince the person who is "it" that they are playing attack and defend or something like that

or you can just tell them someone else is "it"
