Everybody needs to get a grip and put this in perspective...

The Germans kicked the crap out the Allies three years straight. To even the game, some of the leaders and organization behind the Germans left to go the Allied side. This left a vacuum and a loss of good organizational talent that usually started planning for next years game the day after that year's game ended... In 2004 and 2005, the Germans left those prepartions to the last minute and some people didn't deliver what they had promised.

Some also say 2004 was given to the Allies... B.S. They earned it. I've seen their field manuals and I can recognize the organization, communication and effort that went into that year's and 2005's victory.

The Germans have some great talent... but even the best ball players can't do squat against an organized opponent with 1500+ players. Let's face it - this is not a Big Game of capture the flag where everybody walks on Sunday morning. You have veterans with troop leading as well as combat experience running the show.

People also think the players on the German side are Neo-Nazis or something... not even close. Somebody has to be the bad guys and it's a challenge.

2006 will be a differnent game. New Unit designations, recruiting, training, clear communication, command collaboration, a new beach (Utah), new objectives and a head to head battle between the Green Devils and Screaming Eagles. I can see this game hitting 4000. And yes, the Germans will fill their rosters. I predict that the Atlantic Wall (352nd) and the Green Devils (6th FJR) will fill before Christmas.

The best beer, BMWs, Porsches, Merchedes, Rammstein, and DDay 2006. If you want to be the winning side, you need to be German in 2006...

OSOK - sorry to hear that you didn't have a good time. DDay is really a week long event. If you can make it earlier and do the mini-senarios and speedball games, you would have a great time.

If you join us on the wall next year, you will have a blast.

Ahhh ....  The three guys in the picture were on the German side.  That's me in the center, Buckshot on the left and Sparticus on the right.  We were looking at our bunker after the game ended and took a picture.

Honestly I have no idea why we were being mistaken for Commomwealth and allies in this post.  All I've done was talk about building more bunkers ..... that should have been a good enough indication as to which side we fought on.

Plus if you look at my hopper in the center of the picture you'll see that I had a Red badge, plus if you look at Sparticus's left arm you will see a Red arm badge ....  Hence German all around.

Ugh...he can't even look at the picture and figure out that we were on the German side. Shesh...

Here is something you could do as well cowboy. Go to the forums on oklahomadday.com and search for our team there. Better yet, just look for posts by Shadow...

I think I need to rate you a #1 Anal Sphincter.

My team is thinking about going next year. We have some really cool crap and want to go German  Who and how do I ask about the stuff we want to bring? We have four mortar crews and a few panzerfausts. The fausts are just LAWs with the faust head and sight and the mortars have to be seen

I was XO of the 101st and spent time with Dewayne durring the week.

The purple shirts were easy to find and the few times I saw an issue with Air fills and chronos he dropped everything to take care of the issue.

Durring game play I was checked 4 times by green shirt refs for firing full auto or on R/T. I love my new trigger 14bps semi   . The refs were good and if you have a probleall you need to do is find another green shirt or purple shirt. They told us that on the intorduction to d-day tape.

Again the germans need to defend better. Use trip wires and mines. I know I could defend Charlie with mines and 75-100 men.

All you need is good leadership. No one left FBC durring the rain unless they had orders to do so.

We were doing leadership traing with 35 people every day. Only 4-5 germans tood the time to do the training.

All I can say is it's one of the top places to play oin the US and I'll be there every year.

I also had a great time meeting everyone.

D-Day disaster.  This was my 1st year and my last year.  We were told to be there at 7:30 in the morning to load up on the bus.  It was around 10:15am before we hit the field.  Almost 3 hours of standing around looking at each other.  By the time we reached the field Charlie Base was already in Allied hands.  They dropped us off approximately 1 mile past Charlie Base.  We went for a nature walk to Charlie Base, up and down the revines and hills.  By the time we got to the base, a good portion of the squat was already spent.  There was no action at Charlie Base and they knew it when they dropped us off in the woods.  They could have just dropped us at the base.  With less than 1/2 squad force, we snuck around through the woods to the air base, got some good angels on some Germans.  We started eliminating Germans real well.  The quality ref insisted that we come out of our cover and talk to him about what dead zone we came from.  While being out in the open informing the ref that we had legitimate play, we were shot out.  The good ref told us we were out cause we were shot - because he pulled us out in the open.  Went to the Tippmann trailer, had a new valve put in my 98 custom.  I went to chrono it, because I didn't know how hot it was shooting.  The refs informed me that I could not use the chrono until the night game, but if I wanted to play speedball with the same marker, I could.  I chrono'ed it for the night game and found the marker was shooting 360.  Maybe I should have used it for speedball.   The night game, a couple of the A5 Owner's group members were kicked out for using a spotlight.  When head ref was confronted the next day, he said that spotlights were allowed and they should not have been kicked out.  Somebody needs to get their act together.  It's a good game if you live about an hour from it.  Anymore than that, it's a waste of time and money.

Like Sparticus said .... we're good sports ... don't believe in over shooting but understand that it happens from time to time.  And even we're guilty of it when we're shooting at each other.

Granted Sparticus lies and says it was a mistake now and again.

We figure the harder we make it for you the more you get out of the experience.  With a decent commander, and the 1st ID HAS a very good commander, you'll still take the wall no matter what.  We just want to delay the inevitable.  After all the Germans DID loose the wall.

I'm still earger to see what they say about is in the German Playboy and APG.

Yeah Buckshot was really the one behind building that bunker.  He got a substantial reward at the reward show after the game.  If he gets more shells for the M79 they gave him then I'm going to feel really sorry for the shoe that assaults him next year!!!!

Either way ...  I think if we make one bunker right, then we'll hold the wall all day.  The second bunker will then just be eye candy ... But then again Steel is a pretty good commander ... he'll most likely come up with a plan that will eventually take them .... but as long as we hold till 1pm ... who cares???

We have plans to build two additional bunkers. I won't say where yet as we will be making a special trip out there to talk to Dewayne.

Don't worry about the Rangers next year. We will have a plan for them.

The only thing that needs to happen is some organization should be done on the German side. We had a field day kicking the crap out of the 1st division on the wall. Even though we lost, I think every German on the wall had a good time. We cycled people though the new bunker and kept it well stocked with fresh bodies and ammo. The damn people just didn't come back when they died or didn't come back after the rain.

BTW, the allies didn't get any bangalores set until over an hour after the start of the game. I was on top of the the new bunker had the firing sector from boat three to boat four. I killed everyone with my mag (it helped having over 1500 rounds on me). When the ramp would fall, the peeps would walk out into my stream of fire. I couldn't stop giggling. Slasherdan had the firing sector from boat two to boat three. It was utter carnage.

I think Dewayne is doing it right by trying to follow some historical tracks. 34000 Americans attacked 6000 Germans at Omaha. We held this year - nearly down to the wire. I was one of the final guys that was rooted out of the trenches by the first 88. That happened at 11:30. We lost the wall by 10:30 last year.

I will be back next year. And trust me - It will be a different story.

Looks like Dwayne is going to try to buy some more land to make another town that the 82nd and 101st have to take.

I think this land is out past FBC.
