I just got a used A-5. On to the noob questions!

1. Is the pushrod for the cyclone supposed to be THAT loose?
2. Where is the adjuster screw for the RT located? Is it the one inside the grip on the "lettering" side, or the smaller one located on the air line from the cyclone.
3. (not neccesarily an a5 question) if my tank is low, is it possible that the air could leak out the end of the barrel when i screw it in? if not, what could be wrong?
4. what the hell is an ASA?

Maybe ... how loose is it? Keep in mind that it is just a manual advance and is not used in the normal operation of the cyclone.

I don't have RT, but I can say that the screw that is on the metal part where the airlines run to the cyclone and the grip is just a screw to hold that metal part inplace. It does not regulate anything.

Your bolt if closed will depress the plunger on the valve, causing it to leak air. This is always possible but more so when the tank is low and unable to resist the pressure of the bolt. Always cock the rear bolt before you gas your marker.

The ASA is the Air Source Adapter. It is the place where the air source (your tank) is screwed into the marker. In the case of the A5 this is the part on the bottom of the handle that has a steel hose running to the tombstone adapter (technially also an ASA) that feeds the valve. It is possible to attach a tank directly to the tombstone ASA but I would only suggest that with a 3.5-4oz tank.

Also, you may get some flames on this post - I suggest in the future posting questions like this in the New Players Forum.

Tippmann developed the term ASA back in the SMG days (like 15 years ago. I always assumed that all marker companies used the term now as it was a common one when the transition was made from the old 12 gram cylinders to the 7oz (+/-) tanks.
