Hey guys here are the New TPX Magazines for those players having problems with the current TPX Magazines feeding paintballs. While I been lucky to only running into problems while playing last fall in a slight drizzle. Where some of the paintballs went all Tetsuo in Akira on me.

Here is Tippmann's Official Press Release
Tippmann Announces New Addition to the TPX 68 Caliber Paintball Pistol
Tru-Feed Straight Stack Magazine to become new standard accessory with pistol purchases

Tippmann is pleased to announce a new Tru-Feed Straight Stack magazine for the popular TPX .68 Caliber Paintball Pistol. This new design holds 7-balls instead of the traditional 8-balls.   We understand that the staggered design of the original 8-ball magazine may not work in every situation.  Depending on variables such as the paint, temperature and humidity, the 8-ball magazine could potentially experience feed issues. To ensure that every TPX pistol operates perfectly out of the box, we made the decision to include the new 7-ball magazine, rather than the staggered 8-ball magazine, with TPX pistols.  This change will be effective immediately.

Over the last few months Tippmann has made a number of changes to the TPX pistol that have allowed the end user to use a wider variety of CO2 cartridges and paintballs. This final change will now take the performance of the TPX to a new level.  Although there is a reduction of one paintball, players will find that a wider variety of paintball types can now be used with the TPX pistol.  This new 7-ball magazine will also be available in a traditional two pack accessory. Both the pistol and accessory packaging will feature the new TPX Tru-Feed logo.  In addition, we will continue offering the staggered 8-ball magazine as an accessory for those players that place importance on the additional capacity or may not be experiencing any feed issues based on the paint they use or the temperature conditions in which they play.

“Over the last year the TPX Pistol has exceeded all of our expectations. When the TPX was initially launched, the pistol market was a relatively small category with only a few players using pistols in scenario games. However, due to the TPX pistol with its low cost magazines and realistic look and size, we saw more and more players using the TPX Pistol as a standard side arm to enhance their playing experience,” stated Ron Goldblatt, director of marketing for Tippmann Sports. “Many of our paintball teams continue to promote pistol usage in traditional scenario games, and we are also seeing pistol-only games—limited shot games becoming popular, as well. The new 7-ball mag truly eliminates the issues associated with the weather or the size/quality of a paintball."

To promote the TPX Pistol, Tippmann will be running over 20 Pistol/Pump Challenges at scenario events in the U.S. and around the world including many Tippmann Challenge events. To see when you can test this upgraded TPX Pistol, be sure to visit the Tippmann web site at www.tippmann.com and click on the events section.

After emails and posts from concerned TPX Owners about a magazine exchange program. Has issued a statement on the question;

To answer the suggestion about a replacement program for the 8-ball magazine, changing to the 7-ball magazine may not be the solution because first, the 8-ball continues to work well for many players and second, there have been other updates to the original TPX which could also affect performance. If players are having an issue with their TPX Pistol, Tippmann encourages them to contact the technical support team at 1-800-533-4831 or 1-260-749-6022. The Tippmann support team can walk them through any changes needed, and will repair or exchange any parts free of charge including the 7-ball mag.

So today the Delivery Man showed up with the Mags. Inside are the new TPX True Feed magazines. These are easily identified by the True Feed label on the Packaging. So I took them out and gave them a quick inspection, its obvious that Tippmann TPX think tank had been cranking since It's just not a quick redirect of the feed mechanism but a whole new one from the Ground up. This new Feed system cradles the Paintballs. Tippmann Designed a follower that places as least stress on the paintball. Loading was easy, seat the follower at the bottom and lock it place and feed the paintballs.

I was shooting static nothing too fancy since I couldn't get away. But tomorrow after work I have a Tac Cap vs Pistol match with a buddy to test these babies under fire. I can see how much gentle these are on Paint. I'll raid Wally mart tomorrow for some whack paint to see if I can Pop in the TPX.
