So I've been trying to fix my A5 for the past few days. I bought it used with an aftermarket foregrip that has the tombstone built in. At first the power tube was slightly cracked, so I bought a replacement, took the valve out of the old one, and replaced it. Still leaked. So I took all the internals out of the valve, lubed the o rings after inspecting them, replaced it all and it still leaked. Does anyone have any tips for me to fix this thing?

Here are a few things I've already read, tried, and failed:
Check all parts for cracks/wear and tear - The power tube and valve are both fine, and I've checked all the o rings and relubed them. I also made sure the valve is back together correctly.
Cock the gun first - It leaks either way. The leak transfers from being both out of the barrel and out the bottom of the tombstone to just down the tombstone if the gun is cocked.

Anyone have new suggestions for me? I don't know what to check next.

Last thing I forgot to mention, but the previous owner didn't supply me with the stock gas line connector, so I can't just try switching it back to stock either.

If it's coming out of the barrel as well as out of the tombstone area, that's generally a sign of a bad valve or bad seals. I know you visually inspected all the o-rings in the valve, but as a former paintball tech, I can assure you that it doesn't necessarily mean that they're in good shape. Would you say the majority of the leak is coming out of the barrel, or out of the tombstone?

Ugh, usually it's the non-stock airline causing the issue. The barrel leak is more than likely blow-by and not related to the valve at all. You can try giving Tippmann customer service a call and see if you can get them to send you a replacement stock gas line connector and/or tombstone. They used to be really good about taking care of things like that free of charge, but I haven't dealt with them in that capacity since GI Sportz took over, so it may be a crap shoot.

You might want to PM the member FreeEnterprise on here, he's an A-5 expert and may be able to tackle the problem better than I.

How much space you got between valve channel and tombstone ? (installed with pin) Can you move it and if how much ?

If ... i would try put something Slim behind the tombstone to kill the space , your valve O-Ring canīt seal if the tombstone is to far away.

The O-Ring which seals between valve and tombstone must be seen if you look straiht in the line of, if you canīt see him then it must be a wrong one !!!

Does the leak lessen if you move the tombstone around while gassed up? 

If so, it is definitely the oring there that needs replaced. Since you are running an aftermarket piece it may have bad tolerances and need a larger than standard o-ring. (this is common on aftermarket parts, which is why I run ALL my Tippmann's bone stock). Plus make sure you are adding oil when you put o-rings in as they help it to seal. I use Tri-Flow. 

Here is a video I made on tearing it all down and cleaning it all out since you have an older one, this needs to be done. Go ahead and polish the internals while you are at it. As that makes a world of difference in performance. 



You want silicone or Buna o-rings. They are much better than the stock o-rings as they are made for performance. They won't last as long, but the performance will be much more consistent shot to shot. Once they get brittle change em out. I usually can go a year (playing over 100 games) between changing them out.
