So I purchased the alpha black a couple years ago from dicks and played a couple times with it. Never had any problems with it before. I decided with a mil sim marker I should put the egrip on it in order to keep up with the speed ball guns as u cant walk a mil sim trigger. I also got the cyclone in order to keep up with the increased rate of fire. I watched the install video from hustle paintball before during and after installing just to make sure I followed all steps correctly. I then went to my local field (pnl) and after a couple good fires, it started chopping badly. They figured maybe it was because I was using co2 so they let me use a nitro tank, no help., still chopping., I then took apart and cleaned and reassembled the marker about 6 times trying to figure out what the problem was , I even replaced the o ring on the hammer. SO they ended up lettin me use a rental for the day free of charge, which was nice., but they and I were baffled as to what was wrong. I watched another install video (by tippman)after I got home and noticed a difference in their version of the install. They removed the metal clip from the trigger and the spring inside. Could not doing this step cause my issue? Another idea I got from another player on the field is he said the sharp edge of the breach opening may be breaking the balls. One of the supervisors there said when we were dry firing that it sounded like it was hiccuping, which honestly I cant tell from the sound it just sounded full auto to me., and one more important note is that it remained in full auto even after powering off the etrigger. Any help/ideas appreciated thanks.

I would try the stock trigger frame and see if it still chops paintballs.  I tend to do one upgrade at a time just in case something happens so it makes it easier to track down issues.  Make sure your cyclone feed system is cycling properly too. Keep us posted.

when u say try the "stock trigger frame" you're referring to removing that metal clip and spring inside?

I just looked at the alpha black e-trigger kit and noticed it's different than the A5.  The A5 e-trigger was a complete different frame, you just popped off the stock frame, popped on the new frame and away you went.  Anyways, I would still check to see if the cyclone feeder cycles properly every shot.  They are a great upgrade and I've very rarely had issues with it chopping paint unless it's not cycling every shot.  If that is working fine, set the e-trugger to semi-auto and see if it chops with one shot per trigger pull.

My experience with Cyclonefeed for 98´s, Alpha´s ect. is that the cyclone is to far away from the breach so there is ball movement possible. Try with stock feedneck and a quick good hopper what happens ! The best cyclonefeed marker is still the A5 !!!

So there two bad Scenarios:

1st. hold the marker angled to the cyclone side so the ball will not be right inside the breach.

2nd. shoot FA, Burst or just quick and the fresh feeded ball bounces backwards so it is also not right in the breach.

Booth will make ball breaks happen !!!

I´m not expert with the e-grip for but as i read right it´s working correct and just your hammer didn´t get catched by sear sometimes ???

Often there is a simple Problem cause of People who want to do good things to the internals they grease or oil the hammer or sear !!!
So clean them and just do a Little bit oil or grease to the Hammer O-Ring and let the sear and hammer dry but clean !!!

Good luck !!!
