of the important Grecian values? I'm writing a paper and my mind has
gone blank, any help, I've done equanimity, but now I need more

Wikipedia is somewhat helpful, but not much, and google is giving me nothing but Term papers ranging from $34.95-$57.95
In greek plays, rarely was the ideal of equanimity forgotten, Equanimity in loss was to not whine, complain, or blame, and in victory was to not loot and destroy, which just reminded me of the story of Theseus and the war of Seven against Thebes, where Theseus wouldn't allow his army to loot and destroy Thebes, and that they only came to right a wrong. Here's one for you. In ancient Greece, the Greek scholars would have relationships with their male students until they (the students) married. That is to say that, the boys would assume the female role of a relationship (in every aspect of the word, sex included). The scholars would buy them gifts and tell them they looked beautiful and would engage in sexual acts with them. The purpose of this was to teach the students to know how to participate in a give and take relationship and to learn how good it felt to be put upon. That's a good one. It shows that relationships and treatment of women was important to the Greeks. As an added bonus, you get to talk about old guys having sex with little boys. |
