instead of starting the game holding your gun as if your about to shoot, hold it in your hand around the action area. this increases mobility.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

i'd rather shoot the guy that tried that and couldnt get his gun up fast enough but ya thats why the m-16 has that carry handle type sight so you can run with it easier but keep in mind that if you get hit on the gun you're out so holding it up close would be better for speedball especially

Usually when you start the game you don't point at each other your gun is either pointed way up or to the ground or behing you.

I'll carry mine in the two handed, low ready position.  That's my right hand holding the pistol grip, and my left holding my regularator as a front grip.  My mobility isn't hampered much, and I can engage the opponent much quicker if one should suddenly appear before me.  I an also engage targets of opportunity much faster, possibly even ones that I'd loset he chance if I had to change grips on my gun.

ROFL Curly, you will NEVER find a trained military or law enforcement operator who actually uses the M16 handle as a carry handle. Ever. You look like a friggin' idiot doing it,a dn the point of carying a eapon is to be able to immediately and effectively engage the enemy with it in the case that you come under fire. If you don't have to be holding the weapon at a given time, that's what slings are for.

PErsonally, be it a weapon or a paintball gun, when in a tactical situation (ie a paintball game), the gun/marker is either in my shoulder with my eyes down the sights looking for a target, or angled down across my body with the stock tucked into the bottom of my shoulder so I can bring it up instantly if I see someone.

It's no good to you unless you're ready to shoot it right away. Simple as that.

Yup, he actually said that.

The troops I caught doing that had a choice between push-ups or paperwork.  Way back when, we were taught if we weren't ready to shoot we were just moving targets.

this may be a stupid question but it cant possibly be worse than the suggestion that brought about said question: whats an action area and why wouldnt you hold it "like" your about to shoot? isnt that what youre about to do ANYWAY?? if youre not ready to shoot, why hold a gun at all? why play at all? the only time im not ready to shoot is if im not playing or ive been shot and not playing, or am eating and not playing or talking with no playing going on.welcome to your new addiction- the tippmann forums...

I'm not sure if you mean Delta Force or somebody named Delta, but it isn't just "Delta" per say that does that: anyone trained to fire a weapon, especially a submachinegun or otherwise assult weapon, would tell you that there are "positions" to carry the weapon that will put you in the best scenerio to deploy the weapon should you need to. the position you are referring to is called the "ready."

When you have your weapon at the ready, your firing finger should be along the frame of the weapon (not on the trigger OR trigger guard), it is pointed about 45* downward and the butt-plate should be firm in your shoulder pocket. you ought to be looking down-range and in an aggressive stance ready to engage any threats by being able to quickly draw up and engage the threat.

We (my former unit) trained in Portsmouth, VA on a Naval Base in the "Million Dollar Mansion" with 98's. My favorite scenerio was called "Days." the aggressors had anywhere from 12 to 96 hours to plan, intel, engage and occupy the "enemies" position. the "enemy" held the house for the entire time. they didn't know when we'd come or how we'd do it. that is a fun scenerio if you have the time and resources. the coolest part of the house was the cameras set up all around and in all the rooms. we'd debrief with the feeds and see how we screwed up and where we went wrong, why we got shot, why this or that, etc...

anybody own an old cabin or anything?
