Your marker won't fire in automatic mode? We need to ask some questions before we cn answer..

What marker do you have?
What mode are you firing from?
What is/doesn't seem to be working?
Is anything else going wrong besides this?

Do you have a trigger / bolt that is supposed to let it do that? What are all the modifications / additions you have made to the marker? Do you have R/T or an E-bolt? If not, it will never autofire, and even with R/T it isn't really full-auto, it is just finding the sweet spot to achieve constant trigger bounce.

ok, we need you to slow down and type a logical sentance for us.

what is you Tippmann 98. you said you didn't do anything to it, right? when you bought it was it brand new?

is it shooting automatic and you don't want it to?
or,
is it not shooting automatic and you want it to?

your 98 will not shoot automatic without some upgrades.

so i take it that there no upgraded trigger system installed like an RT of the E Bolt.

when you gun fires in "auto" does it stop after a few seconds and then you have to recock it?

are you actually shooting paint at will, as long and as often as you want?

or when you cock the marker, gas it up, it sounds like a rapid fire a few times the stops right?

this could mean your out of air or your tank is too low. start with that.

is what i described happeningo to you?

Other than the tank pressure as mentioned above, what does your sear look like? Do you have the owner's manual or a parts diagram? These can both be found and downloaded from the Tippmann website in the support section and are important to have available. My guess if it is 6 years old is that the sear is just worn down and needs to be replaced.
