I have recently got a speedball gun and am wondering what kind of hopper is best. The Halo B or the Evlution 3. If anyone can also compare the weight for me because that is one thing i dont know is the weight. Thanks for the help!

ummmm Halo lol
I like eggs, but they are not considered comparable to the Halo
I have a V35 Halo and love it. Some of my team mates love their VLocity and Magnas.

I heard that the dye rotor is excellent. Just another possible suggestion.

the dye rotor is too much though, its $140 and the halo b with v35 is $108, and i am only paying for part of it so idk, the halo b with v35 can cover every spedball gun for it goes 35bps and most guns cant go past that so i should be fine... although the dye rotor is so freaking fast

don't pay full retail price for the halo if you do get it though, you can get them on ebay in good condition for much less

both will feed any gun yes. the rotor is nice because of the design and functionality of the hopper. I am not a big fan of sound activated like the halo simply because it doesnt always pick up the sound.

The Halo is eye activated. Its the older Empire Reloader B's that were sound acivated, and I'm pretty sure the Prophecy is as well. That said, I prefer the Vlocity over the Halo. I used a Halo for quite some time, and switched over to the Vlocity recently because I just liked it that much more. It'll keep your budget under that of the brand new super-loaders like the Rotor. But if you have the money, by all means, go right ahead and get a Rotor or similar. |

Given your two options listed, I would vote for the Halo. I've never been that partial to Eggs just because of how the entire hopper sits behind the feedneck and makes for a really awkward weight distribution.
However, if price is an issue, I might recommend a Vlocity Jr (or as Yomillo said, a Vlocity). Although it does have fewer features than a V35 Halo, it does have a 20bps feed rate (and with big tournaments actually decreasing the maximum rate of fire, how much more speed do you really need?), and it costs $80, give or take. For what it's worth, I've never had any problems with mine. It has yet to jam, break a ball, or eat batteries too quickly. Besides, the board is upgradeable, so you could just upgrade that at some point downt he line if you really felt like it.

um... no the Rotor feeds 50bps due to the way it works and has nothing to do with your guns max ROF, that fact that it feeds 50bps means there will always be a ball in your breech no matter how fast you fire, which will keep you firing fast, vs even the halo, and vlocities at 22-35bps will still skip every now and then.
whats relevant is the fact that its light weight, durable, low profile, weight distribution is nice, its tool-less serviceable, uses only 3 AA batters to feed ~50,000 paintballs, and its super reliable. seriously, the Rotor is worth the extra money. ive owned a halo for the last 5 years now... and after a few months the shells break, generally at the feedneck, they are a PAIN to service, have the worst paint sensing system and jam often. I now own a Vlocity and will buy a Rotor soon. Edited by ctchofday - 05 March 2009 at 10:50pm |
