Hey, I play woodsball mostly but speedball occasionally and wondering if I should go for A-5 or Ion. This has probably been answered before but some say A-5 some say Ion. I'm going on majority here. I play mid field. I'm in the woods alot more than in open. I would like a fast marker but a good woodsball marker, help me. Thanks =)

Sine you play primarily woods go with the A-5. The reliability factor is unmatched.

lol its incredible how many a-5 vs ion pages there are when they all ask the exact same question... anyways if u play woodsball then get an a-5. Imo its uncomfortable using a speedball gun in the woods b/c of the way the trigger is. Also remember that w/ an ion, u will need a $75 hopper and u will want to go nitro. U could use that money to get an egrip for the a-5 and have a very nice woodsball setup. just b/c a company makes a $1000 gun doesnt mean all of their products are good. Take wgp and their trilogy as an example. Still, ive heard good things about ions but the bottom line is its just not a woodsball gun. |

It's all personal preference. Get whichever gun that you think is more comfortable, not what someone tells you you should get.

The A-5 Flatline is very accurate. Due to the Cyclone it does have slightly increased air usage. If you play both woods and speed, then get the A-5. EDIT: Mostly they come at night. Mostly. Edited by Hella Cool |

I heard the A-5 Cylcone system only uses _EXTRA AIR_ not air directly from the tank...

A-5 is kind of a hog. The Cyclone uses Co2 directly but things like responce triggers use left over air. Which is why you'll sometimes see people getting less than a thousand shots outta a 20oz Co2 tank. But the A-5, gradually upgrade it with a flatline and r/t, you'll love it. |

That is correct the cyclone uses excess gass that would normaly be expelled through the grip any way the same is true of the RT. The flat line is actualy very accurate but for a good mix i would recomend a big shot or a J&J ceramic 12-14" Also if you intend to play a mix the a-5 is perfect you can have all the fire power you want and in 30 seconds yank a few of the strip pins and have a compleatly diffrent marker for speed ball and with a sweet spotted RT you can hit 12bps. most human beings cant fan a trigger that fast in an actuial game situation so you should be set on fire power and you cant beet a tippmann for durrabillity and versitility. |

For woodsball you don't need speed. I would get a 98c with a J+J Ceramic barrel and a 4+1 harness with a remote line. Then you can polish your internals and do the pen spring mod to make it perform a little better. If you really find the need to shoot a little faster, then I would go with the R/T for the 98c. This will probably make you need a new motorized hopper. Then I would just get a 12 Volt Viewloader Revolution(Revvy).
