ok so ive been wanting a new gun for a while. ive just been too poor due to other things ive needed to pay for. so far
though, ive got 300 dollars for paintball, itll be 550 by friday though cause i get
paid. should i join the ion cult? but ive been thinking of just saving
more and more for a shocker. or maybe a paradigm automag. or a DM3 with
lcd.but ive also been looking at the new black magic. anyone have any
idea how much these things are gonna run or when their comign out or
have any real information on them? the wgp website seems to not have
put any work in to describing it or saying much about it. also, i want
opinions on what i should choose. im sooo torn. like stated, by friday
ill have 550, but then by 2 fridays from now ill have 800ish. so money
isnt a huge issue, its just my indecisive mind that is. opinions are
much appreciated

Do you have the things you need to make these guns work>(i.e., HPA, hopper, etc.) |

i play woods and speed but im mainly looking for a speed gun i can play
tourneys with. right now ive already got an a-5, so woods is covered,
im just tired of having the cyclone sticking out to the side in speed,
feels higher profile cause when i snap shoot, first thing to come
around the bunker is the front of my barrel then the cyclone. no matter
how close i tuck myself to the bunker, the cyclone still sticks out and
i just dont want to worry soo much about that. plus im just losing
faith in tippmann personally between the "new" custom pro and the WAS
board. im probly jumping the gun for thinking the new board is gonna be
crap, i just dont think tippmann will develop a better way for the
cyclone to feed that fast. so im sure it will work for the 98
variations, just with the a-5 i think its a bit of a ripoff. ive
already got money set aside for a hopper and tank, but i figure since i
dont need a hopper just yet, ill buy that when i buy the gun. as for
the tank, i cant get that until i figure out what kind of gun to get so
as to either get high or low pressure cause i dont want to dish out the
300-400 dollars for an adjustable tank. thanks for the opinions, keep
em comin

I like trix's, they seem like they'd do the trick quite nicely. I think that you'll be pretty satisfied with pretty much any gun you buy in that price range.
Best of luck, show us what you get when you buy it

Most regs can hadle HPA. Only the WDP mini-reg can't handle HPA.
I would go with the DM3. Its a great gun. Fast. Can be very fast with a tadeo board. The shocker needs tooooo much mateniace to work. And, the mag will be too slow. |

since my local shop doesnt have any kind of mag and doesnt have a dm3
and ive only used an automag classic a few times. any idea of weights?
i play everything in speedball from front to back, so im mainly looking
for something that is low profile, light, and can fling paint like a
monster. im seriously considering the dm3's. i like the look and not
every person in the world has them. its dye, so you know its not crappy
and it cant take a beating, but it seems to be a bit bulky and clumsy.
i played a few games with a shocker and i tried it again at my shop
along with an ion. the person working at the time told me the ion was
really crappy on the wiring. as far as the shocker needing alot of
maintainence, do you mean mechanical maintanence or electrical.
personally, im a moron when it comes to electrical. i know green is
ground, white or gold is positive, and black or silver is negative. but
nothing else. i am really torn right now, and im not really looking to
spend over a thousand dollars on a gun, cause regardless it still needs
certain ups. i probably should have told you i play everything before.
but im slow. i think for the time being im just gonna buy myself an HPA
tank since it will work with whatever gun i get. im so torn right now,
i made an effort to run around trying to shoot all the guns i was
thinking of but wasnt quite able. anymore suggestions?

Id get a bare bone Auto Mag and up it the way you want. They aint
the fastest but NOTHING compares to a mag for reliability,
compactability AND for pure LOW PROFILE. Mines FULLY mehcanical
and has no real trigger mods other than a new trigger
frame. I can shoot 10bps with no real trouble but im FAR
from a speed shooter so an experiance speedballer may do MUTCH better
than that.
AGD is now offering bassically 68 classics again AGD Classic Pros. Theire a good deal. THe nice thing bout Mags are you can buy a BARE bone model and litterally turn it into the most best model as money comes. And LAST the mags are FULLY mehcanical and built like TANKS (heck they give my Carbine a run for its money in the OVER built catagory). So if ya wanted the mag would more than suffice for speedball AND woodsball so you COULD even sell the A5 for more mods if ya wanted. |

You sound like you are just at the level where whatever we suggest will
be put on your list but may or maynot be the gun for you until you get
to shoot it. If nothing you shot so far has made up your mind you
haven't found your gun yet. Be patient, you have the $$$ wait till your
new baby falls into your hands, It'll come along if you keep
searching.

ive been trying to search for a while. i am open to suggestions, i just
want to hear other peoples opinions too. ive shot and used a good
number of guns before, i just really cant decide. im listening to what
people say before i go way out of my way to try something. if i get bad
opinions on something, im not gunna scour for people at my field to ask
if i can try the gun. its not really a matter of not having found a gun
im happy with, its a matter of finding too many. when i fired the
shocker, i really liked it. but i also tried a dm4 and a proto. thats
why im considering a dm3. i like the lcd and i like the styling. ive
shot a classic mag a few years back and i liked how that felt to shoot.
i like cockers cause of how smooth it feels shooting. theres just too
much that im going for. and i want to just hear things before i decide.

Well, where's your
closest proshop? Head down there and try out a few markers, then check
eBay, but I really recommend a classic timmy because they are great
markers.

I agree with Pro Carbine to upgrade an Ion. You'll like it but obviously get the high-end stuff you mentioned if you can. Good luck

i already went down to my local proshop. and thats lik 30 minutes away. all the ones that used to be by me closed down
.
i went there and tried out a shocker, an ion, and a super stock. ive
already shot angels and timmy's and DM4's and 5's so i didnt ask to
shoot them. i like the way the older timmy's look. i would like to try
an original ripper. but its hard to find one of those to test shoot
these days. does the ion have eyes in it?
