so has anyone heard, seen or used the epic? it looks pretty good, although its pretty ugly. i was hoping this is near the par of cocker accuracy, is fast and light, tight and reliable.

"'Cocker Accuracy" is a myth.
Epics are clever markers, but all they are really is a novelty. They are overpriced new, and impossible to find used, it seems. The clever thing behind them is they are boltless. Ball enters chamber via trapdoor, burst of air fires ball. Cool gun to have, but I hear they are finicky. Overall, I suggest sticking to a nice 'cocker. Yes. Closed bolt gives no more accuracy than open. |

really? i always thought that a closed bolt was much more accurate. why do people like cockers so much if there not accurate? as well, in my own experiences my cocker has been much more accurate than any other gun i have used, and many others say that as well

oh wow... this pretty much means im gonna be selling my freeflow for a mini....i mean im not going to continue using a marker that is so big, heavy, difficult to clean and maintain when a mini has the same accuracy, better speed and its a LOT lighter....

Well, that's sad to hear, but a reasonable sentiment. True 'cocker owners tend to feel kind of a mojo when using a 'cocker. There's just something about this pneumatic steam-engine slapped onto the front of the marker, and the backblock clacking against the back of the body that is just, well, we like that kind of stuff. Not to mention, like light sabers, 'cockers are better hand-built. :)
True story: I traded a ULE E-Mag for a Raced 'cocker, straight up. While I regret losing monetarily on that deal, I definitely do not regret the physical trade. I just couldn't appreciate the feel of the E-Mag. And now, my life is soon to be complete. I'm getting a Ripper! Convertible Ripper body + Osiris kit + Race Frame = orgasm. I got myself a used 68 Automag with a 72/3000 tank for $120 a couple of years ago. Has an ugly camo paintjob on it. Slapped on a medium drop, an X-Core, Intelliframe and a 12" J & J Barrel. For being old, it is one of the quietest mechanical markers I've ever used. Would love to try an E-mag, but they're about as rare as hen's teeth around me. Just have to respect AGD for their contribution to the sport. Too bad they're not as mainstream as they were 15 some odd years ago.

AGD would probably be mixed in with the mainstream companies if Commie Parts didn't rip them off. Ironically, SP sued AGD for technology SP didn't even pioneer, yet EVERY high end comany could have been sued by AGD for HPA tank patents. |
