Im considering selling my a5 and purchasing an ion, a few questions:

-is the ion durable enough to bring into the woods?
-is the ions stock regulator useless when using CO2?
-would you recommend replacing the macroline with steel braided line?

would the unregulated pressure of a CO2 canister be far too high to operate with the stock ion? Do you recommend keeping my palmer stabalizer?

If your going to use co2, use anti-syphon. But, please don't.

I got an Ion to replace my A-5 for woodsball. Great choice. Never had any durability problems. Although, I wouldn't recommend the Ion without compressed air. If you don't want to spring for HPA, stick with the A-5.

I would NEVER recomendi using CO2 with an Ion. Not only will it void your warrenty, there is a good possiblity that it will mess up your regulator and your electroncis.

Snake are you sure? I'm pretty sure that in the Ion's manual it simply states that if you use CO2, it has to be anti-syphoned.  And you can't put it in rebound mode, because at anything over 12bps liquid CO2 will still seep into the gun.

ion with remote... weird man.
im pretty upset. when i had liquid Co2 problems in my CPro (skip fire and such), they told me an x-chamber would help. i mean it did and all, but a remote would have solved it for way cheaper. GRR!

Do yourself a favor and go with HPA, tanks are pretty cheap now. And dont switch out your macroline.

I'd look for a good used Nitro Duck with the X-Stream reg, that way you can set the output pressure.  That or the adjustable Macdev one...  But if you buy a HPA tank and it isn't adjustable, go with high pressure (800-850 psi output) and lower it with the secondary reg.  If you want to use co2, I'd say stick with the a-5, OR run double palmers and an antisiphon.  I wouldn't risk anything else.

Which is why I wouldn't use CO2. If you only want 12bps, get a R/T with a 98c, and save some money.

Conquests are the best tanks on the market, IMO.
